& before my feedback rating turns you off here's my explanation:

He totally had buyers remorse & unfortunatly for me ebay wont remove the negative feedback even though i won the case.

Please go back & view my selling history, i have always done right by everone & always give excellent deals on great gear. In this particular case i was not going to be taken advantage of because of a buyers self-ill advised decision. i assure you the bass i have for sale today is accuratley described & is a GREAT bass and a great deal for it's soon to be new owner. Thanks for taking the time to hear my side.

actually the new features started mid/late 2007. i know because i have a P (the one for sale) & a Jazz bass both 07's with all the updates. i do think you might be right about the release date being 2008 for the new models. Either way they are great basses & truly a huge improvement all the way around IMHO.

Used Highway One, '06 or later - and the G50 instead of the G30... It's definitely doable - I recently bought an '06 Highway One P Bass for $500...

In '06 Fender included the graphite rods in the necks of their Highway One series - worth the extra $$$, IMO...

Besides, a brand new MIM can be had for about $500...sometimes less if you watch the sales and price matches. I'm guessing any shielding or electronics attention (even fresh Lindys) can be had for waaaay less than $300, leaving you with fine timber, hardware, and upgraded electronics.

Different from my experience too. I bought a MIM standard P because it sounded so good when I played it in the store. I took it to my luthier and got the rough edges of the frets smoothed out. Set up and intonated. Spent $50 on it. Best sounding P bass I ever played. It sounded and felt so good I traded my 2008 American Standard P. It taught me that unless you can play it before you buy it you are just rolling the dice. I always heard that the quality of the MIM varys greatly and this proves to me that there are some gems out there. Just take your time and do your homework. Find a good one. You have another bass to play while you look.
