im trying to get my tone metallic and clanky but clear and distorted, i have the distortion down but the metallic isnt there. would a eq do the trick? Boss GEB-7? Something Else?

you might even be able to get by with the eq on your amp. experiment with boosting the high and/or high mids a bit.
unless you want it to be switchable, in which case you should get a pedal.
