Dude. The new Blink album is going to be all super heavy shred metal with that super fast clangy bass. I know a guy who went down to the studio where they're recording. He said it's the tightest, heaviest stuff he's ever heard.

Ever heard of Sid Vicious... or perhaps Nikki Syxx (Is that his name... I forget). I seem to recall Hoppus being fairly solid. I mean, mostly straight root note, but not out of time... but I don't really know.


Plus the song Carosel by Blink 182 has a pretty cool lead esque bassline

you should be thrown in jail. 'hoppus is solid and in time'?!?!!?!? you have to be out of your MIND. he messes up notes, rythym and time left and right all the time. if you are going by their studio records, it might sound halfway decent beceause it's not HIM on the record half the time!!!

1) hes doing his thing

2) he prolly doesn't care what any of have to say about his playing

3) we're all wasting gobs of time with all these threads about him

4) whether he's the bassist bassist in the world....or the worst in the world....he is still a bassist none the less so he deserves some respect for doing what he does and loves it

5) whether blink 182 is the best band in the world....or the worst in the world...they are still musicians none the less so they deserve some respect for doing what they do and loving it

6) from talking to other people on this board...i kno im not the only one getting po'd about all these threads

we're all suposed to be kind musisians, respectful of anothers work....but thats not what i've been seeing here at TB lately....

jokes are funny...but repetative jokes like these are getting to be old very quickly...

so PLEASE...im asking ALL OF TALKBASS to just let all the Mark Bashing and Blink Bashing (and any other bassist/band that gets trashed on here) die RIGHT NOW...

You're missing the point. This is not a "Do you think Mark Hoppus suck" thread because its been done to death. This is not a "Do you think he cares if we think he suck" thread. This is not a "Do you give a damn if Mark Hoppus sucks or can play like Jaco" thread.

This is simply a "Do you think he will go out of the norm and impress us in the new and upcoming album". Its a simple Yes, No, Maybe thread that has not been done. Its by no means a Mark Hoppus bash thread.
