(b) The slap hardly phased him. Maybe Jada should have done it herself.
(c) Chris Rock doesn't have to listen to Jada sing, or see her band. I did once. I regret it.

I watched it and Will Smith was laughing at the joke as he sat there, so weird he gets mad about two seconds later and hit him for it? I'm not saying it was staged, but his first reaction doesn't match the finally outcome imo

He thought it was funny until his wife gave him the stink eye.

Exactly what I noticed. It's like he suddenly said to himself, "I'd better fix this quick," and he decided to "man up" in a totally overwrought way.

It's similar to if someone makes a joke about you in front of your friend. You know it's just a joke, so you laugh it off - no harm, no foul. But your friend says, "DUDE! You gon' let him clown you like dat?!?!" Then you go into macho mode and do something stupid.

Chappelle lives in a little town about five minutes from me. Word is he's kind of a jerk to the locals at times. Even beyond what anyone might think of his comedy, he probably deserves to be slapped.
