What a handy (thumby?) built in feature! A functional addition to a bass that looks great!

Your grin is contagious. That thing is so badass! I just noticed the trussrod cover again, that's such a cool detail. How's it balance? The long bottom horn would seem like a natural for seated practice over the knee, but I never know what's going to happen until I hang a bass around my neck. I only ever held a real Ampeg Devil Bass once, and as I recall it was neck heavy with that big scroll headstock.
Thanks!, it balances really well - I was surprised. I thought with dual truss rods, it might be a little neck heavy, but no, balances perfectly, both with a strap, and on my knee.

Try Absolut Vanilla with Zevia Orange Soda sometime. Not many things better than vanilla orange.

So, normally when I do a sound clip, I like to put together an actual song that highlights the bass, so people can hear it, and hear how it sits in the mix. These days, I found myself pretty much building exclusively, for like the past 6 months. So trying to lay down a bass track, and the other instrument tracks over the last several days, I realize that due to the total lack of practice, I suck. My drumming is especially horrible. On top of that, I thought to do a "devil" related song, which meant I had to learn it. I did "Devil in her Heart" earlier in the thread (or was it the last thread - lost track), but I know that song fairly well, as I have heard it over the last 50 years or so. Other devils songs, not so much.
Further, I get home from work, set all the recording stuff up, set the levels, figure out why something is not working, try to lay down a track, and then I have to get ready for bed, to go to work the next day. Ugh.
No excuses - I'll have some kind of sound clip by Sunday night. I'll probably just do a bass track, of noodling, so y'all can hear it.
*sigh*
Another downside of getting old - no sugar. Do they make a diet version of that Orange soda?

Being diabetic I have the same problem. Carbs are not my friend.
Zevia is made with all natural ingredients with Stevia as a sweetener. 0 calories, 0 carbs. No artificial coloring either. All their sodas are clear.

Great, thanks for the response. My sugar issue is new this year, though diabetes runs in my family, so I guess it's finally is catching up with me. The grocery store not far from me carries this Zevia - I'll have to check it out. I usually use Diet Sierra Mist as a mixer - it'll be nice to have an alternative.

I seem to recall a wooden pickup cover with flames etched into it, I was hoping to see that in the final build. Any reason that didn't make it?
It's for the the neck through version Devil bass. Also, since the Delano was a special order, it was a backup in case the Delano showed up late.

If I knew I'd live this long I maybe, kinda, sorta, possibly would have taken better care of myself when I was a wee lad.
