And with the goodies on the front and the fretboard unmasked:

Still to do:
Level the frets, shield the cavities, wire up the electronics, make a new aluminum plate, and bolt on the pieces... Getting close to :bassist:

Stupidly complex electronics completed:

With coil-splitting and phase reversal /coil selecting (when coils split) I have a total of 16 possible pickup configurations to play with

And HALLELUJAH! IT'S DONE!

Still needs a setup, I'm going to give it a week tuned to pitch before I tweak everything.

I've played with the various pickup combo's a bit; interesting sounds are available with it. The neck pickup is about in the traditional Ric neck position (24th Fret) while the bridge pickup ended up in about a J-bass neck position. Also need to build a breakout box for the stereo output.

Its about time!!!

seriously, it was worth the wait. nice job!!!
Thanks everyone!

Dang. That's badass! Got a little Lemmy feel going there too.
Thanks all!
Definitely gonna bind the headstock on the Hossenfeffer II based on the look of yours. Very nice job!! How's it sound?
Glad I inspired you to try it! It sounds good to me; not quite like anything else I have. In general, I'd say the humbucker settings are my favorites so far. I'll get some sound clips up once I have the stereo setup worked out.

Great job, Jon! Better late than never :D This beauty can def hold its own among the other amazing winter build off successes. I'm currently stuck trying to teach myself how to get a proper finish... but hope to have something playable before the start of the winter ;) Your achievement motivates me to keep going.

Looking forward to soundclips! :bassist:

Thanks! Hoping to get the soundclips maybe by the weekend. Kinda want to show off the stereo set up on the clips.

Been watching this one the whole time, I love the full veneer and binding! Really looking forward to some clips. I'm sure it has more beef than my Gibströmbackder since I used Strat pickups.

One thing I learned while shielding mine is that even though I used foil tape with conductive adhesive, it's not that great and caused enough resistance to cause some hum. I spot soldered the edges of tape together, the resistance dropped to zero, and the hum vanished.

I don't suppose you'll post your schematic for us to study and drool upon, would ya? :)

Thank you!

Gibströmbackder? Sounds interesting. Gotta link?

I've not had a problem with the conductive adhesive yet; I've been using it for several years now without tack soldering. I check periodically with a DMM and haven't seen any deterioration. Maybe I'm just lucky?
