Ready to level out and polish
Two TRC's the top is a clear acrylic cover over a laser water-slide on styrene, the bottom is a laser waterslide on a black ABS TRC.
Of course, I couldn't resist picking up a piece of cream pickguard material. It's a bit darker than the binding so I'm going to make a TRC and pickguard, compare with the black on the bass and pick which one I like better.
Back to the grind! Or sand, as it were.

No pickguard? A little late for that option (nowhere to mount the controls)
Other than that, the LC seems to mirror the voices in my head
Both look good IMHO, but I think black wins. I think the chrome tubes will look better surrounded by black than cream.

I'm going to finish out the cream set and then decide. I can always set aside the unused set for a future project

A little bit of cream goes a long way for me, the cream binding looks great, really like how the headstock looks with the black TRC, so I vote black pickguard. Watching your build has convinced me to bind the headstock on my next Ric build, I was nervous about the tight radius curves, but you pulled it off nicely.
Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised by the headstock binding worked out. I didn't have much luck with using a heatgun to bend it. I ended up feeding the binding into the inside on the curl from the right and allowing the curl to bend the binding as it went. To do the outside of the curl, I started at the right and bent it gently around the curve. Make sure to have extra on hand because you'll snap it as you're learning what works.

Sanded level to 1000 grit. Wet sanded with mineral oil per the WB finishes thread
Back of the neck has a lovely satiny feel to it. Leaving this as is!
And here we are after a bit of polishing:
After some final polishing, I'll put a light coat of wax on it and start putting her all together. But first a little glamor shot:
This aluminum plate got a bit dinged up, so I'll be making another.
