Thank you, Sir! The lip-buckers were somewhat inspired by one of your creations.
Now the dreaded here's what all the pickup settings sound like post. Broken up into 3 files: the 4 humbucker-only settings; N, B, N+B and N-B, just playing open strings.
I wired it up so that when a pickup is in single coil mode, the push-pull on the respective tone control selects the coil; for the the neck pickup, when the push-pull is pushed, the neck coil, which I call N1 is selected, otherwise N2 is. On the bridge pickup, the default coil (B1) is the coil closest to the bridge. So what you're hearing here is N1, N2, B1, B2, N1+B1, N2+B1 and N2+B2.
Finally we have combinations of HB and SC:
N1+B, N2+B, N1-B, N2-B, N+B1, N+B2, N-B1, and N-B2
Even though these are cheap lipsticks bought off of Amazon for $16/pair, I think they sound fairly decent. The spec on original Dano lipsticks was a DCR of 4k; in practice they typically read around 4.7k (they over-wound slightly, probably to allow for breakage in the final stages of winding) These guys measure out a 4.7k each and have ceramic magnets. The way they're put together it should be pretty easy to slip other magnets in, I've got another pair coming and I'm ordering some Alnico-5 bar magnets to play around with initially. I'll be trying this out on the Lab Rat when I have it together.
