The other day I caught myself thinking of a fourth entry....

I played the bass with the band last night at an open mic. It was a terrible place to test it out as the sound is ridiculously bad, I was playing through a tiny amp. The guitar goes into the PA and only comes out of speakers that are overhead. So I can't say much about how it sounds, but it played super nice. It's a bit heavier than my last fiver, but not significantly so.

As soon as I got on "stage" (really just a spot in the corner of the bar) the bassist from one of the other bands was going nuts and yelled "who makes that bass?". The look on his face when I said "I did" was awesome, worth the price of admission (And a nice NE IPA).

I also love that look. I feel a little guilty cuz of pride and vanity and all ( ), but I do get warm and fuzzy when someone raves over my work...

yep, same here. I felt a little guilty, but it's nice to have someone besides my wife tell me it's a nice bass, especially someone I don't know at all.

I think I could build a case, the carpentry is pretty straightforward, the liner and fabric work? Not so much. Some upholstery experience would probably come in handy.

I just watched a video, it looks messy. I've customized a case before, it wasn't what I'd call fun.

The problem with getting done early is that I've been watching everyone else and thinking I should still be working. So, I had this idea... anyone want to guess what I'm up to?

I will. I've got a couple songs recorded, but I don't like them, trying to get something good down and I'll post it. I used it at band practice tonight, it was awesome, sounds great, I love it!

I got a song recorded that I like well enough, but now that we're close to the end of the contest I'm going to wait and post it with my final entry.

Now I feel like I'm waiting for the END the same way I was waiting for it to start.
