Winter 2019 Build Off - The Carl Factor

I want to hold some back for the final submission, but here's a few teasers. It's become my main player. It definitely has a more aggressive tone than my other five headless. The other one has Bartolini's in it and it is a MWAH machine, this one not so much. It tends to roar rather than purr.

This is my submission for the Winter-2019 Build off

Winter Build Off - Carl Factor

This build is a mash up of a Kubicki Factor and a Carl Thompson. The top half of the body is based on the Carl Thompson, the bottom half is based on the Kubicki.

Specs of the build are as follows:
Neck : Seven piece maple/walnut
Finger Board: tiger maple with padauk and wenge stringers
Fingerboard finish: Cyanoacrylate
Fingerboard radius: 0 (flat)
Scale Length: 35 inches
Bridge/tuners: Nova Headless
Pickups: Honeybadger dual coil
Pickup covers: Wenge with padauk accents
Electronics: Audere preamp with Volume/Mix/Treble/Bass
Body: Walnut front, anigre middle, walnut back with tiger maple, padauk and wenge accents, matching control cover
Custom knobs: matching walnut/padauk/wenge
Finish: Tru Oil
Strings: D'Addario Pro Steel roundwound

Great looking bass! There is something similar to the last Les Pachyderm bass

Yeah, I guess it does have a similar shape on the lower bout to the Pachyderm, the upper horn certainly has hints of the Carl Thompson design as well. Les' bass certainly looks like it gets use eh?

It seems Warwick drew inspiration from your lower horn for the Thumb's upper horn.

The CF shape and sizing is an absolute winner.
