ah, i see what you're saying, I'll see what that looks like, another good idea.I meant on top of the body, faired into the bridge, as tight as you can make them and still cover the mistake. It will look like part of the bridge mounting. Add some other maple bits to make a theme, and no one will ever guess it was a correction.
I've been messing around with real tung oil, and I like it. That walnut would look nice oiled.
Nice work on the pickup cover - tight and straight. And the knobs.
yes, exactly or at least "big block"Looks like it should have "Hemi" written on the side![]()
That's the way I used to do it as well, but I never got a perfect straight line. This way is foolproof, for my foolish hands and eyes.I just mark the spots carefully and pre-punch them. I spring-type metal punch will make a hell of a starting dimple in wood.
I'll document it with pictures - basically put CA on, sand it off, repeat until it's smooth.Definitely want to see that process.

I also need to design something for the bottom of the fretboards, it will go a half inch or so beyond the 24th fret. I want them to be the same (obviously), I just haven't been able think of anything. I did a half circle on the last one and I like that, maybe I'll just do that again.
now that I could see doing :-DHow about a treble clef....That'd confuse 'em....
