Why do your rough cuts look better than my finished versions???Rough cut the headstock and did some preliminary shaping and sanding.
I think I'm ready to position the body wings with dowels and get ready to glue them up.

Positioned the wings with 1/4" dowels.
I want to place a maple veneer between the neck beam and wings, so I just have to cut those up, and then I'll be ready to glue the wings on.

Thanks! Glued up the wings. I probably should have glued on the maple veneer first, but that deadline is approaching.
I really should have waited a full 24 hours for the epoxy to cure, but it was warm in the shop overnight, between 70 and 80, and it felt pretty dry. So I took it out of the clamps, and did some preliminary sanding and shaping.
I just have to rout for the pickup, and then on to final sanding and finishing.

Pickup position marked and hogged out some of the wood, readying for rout.
Of course, now I have to do some chores around the house. I sometimes think heaven will be a place where all I have to do is build and play.

As an added note, I just heard back from the band that I auditioned for last week, and they offered me the position, which I promptly accepted. I'm going to try hard to get this build finished by the deadline, but after that either way, I'll be spending the bulk of my time practicing and playing
