So I'm happily Tru-oiling the body yet again... when I notice....

Some dummy never drilled the recess for the jack cup... or the the output in any fashion

Yeah, it happens! I get tunnel vision on one task. I forgot to drill the bridge ground wire hole on my Hossenfeffer II build when it was still in pieces, would have been easy. Now I have to cobble up a drilling jig so I don’t drill right through the back! Painful. Is it going to be a recessed cup like the knobs? The oil is pretty forgiving, the stain might be airbrush work.

I think I'll just use a rectangular plate for the jack, I have several laying around, should hide any disturbance of the force.

I remember deliberately NOT drilling it so I could round over the back.....

Just build in a wireless transmitter. No jack needed.

By way of an update, the replacement neck is slowly coming together, however I tried to wetsand the body today and promptly went right through to bare wood :/

Ok, this went better this time. About to start wiring.
Apparently the drawback with a clear pickup surround is it attracts every piece of loose wood in the chambered cavity.

Needs a few things yet. I’m soooo tempted to throw strings on it though.

Forgot to mention the headstock decal is in Gibson script just to add another “mashup” item.
