Back when Max was at Best Bass Gear, the two of us were trying to figure out how we could make the build off a reality show.
I posted this somewhere here in TB, and about 6 or 7 people said they would do it.

If you are going to do a movie, fine. Max and I claim the reality show :)

The Netflix thing may not be a bad way to do it. Their streaming service is 75% "Netflix originals" these days. Half of which look like licensed shows/movies from outside the US, and the other half Netflix-produced product. With the drive to pack streaming with as much content as possible they might throw money at a build-off show.

So some of the things Max and I discussed were related to making as close to a "production" as possible
1) I'm pretty sure netflix would not throw money for say 20 camera crews for 3 months for each crew.
2) We'd have to do our own filming so we'd have to make sure we had builders that knew how to film as well
3) We'd have to develop some Characters. I'm thinking @Rôckhewer wouldn't need any development :woot:
4) We'd need to find someone to master all the vids together.

I LUV this idea, but really wouldn't have the bandwith to handle it until I retire, so we do have a 2 to 3 years to discuss

What if it started with a documentary film?(my idea as clarified by @Scoops above :smug:)

We invest in a bunch of go-pros and pick 6 builders. Let them shoot during the build both with a shot list of things we know we want, and the ability to shoot random stuff they think is cool. Then afterward we'd shoot segue and narrative stuff (we'd have to edit a rough cut of just builder footage 1st, then story board and shoot/track narration). If we could do it cheap enough to make it happen, and then option the completed product to distribution, maybe that generates enough interest for series funding...
