Finally got around to going to my mom and pop wood store

They also have qty2 10Ft x 13.5" x 8/4 African mahogany boards @$8.19 bd/ft
They don't deliver at this time.
Refreshing to see that what appears to be a grand daughter running the store today. She said she is being shown how the business works. She was also handling the machinery and planks with knowledge

I so much feel you!
So, is the start at 00.00.01 local time? Please don’t tell me that I have to wait until you on the other side of the pond crawl out of your beds and wake up! I’ve been awake for half a day that time.

I'll be starting and ending all of this from my place here which is GMT -6

I have New Years Eve like plans, (consuming Old Fashions) where the wife and I will stay up this Friday night till the stroke of midnight, at which time I will commence ceremonies:bassist::bassist::bassist::hyper::hyper::hyper::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'll probably only get to post up a pic of my wood pile with WBO phrase, then I'll have to spend the weekend replacing siding on the back of my house. Such a joy... :banghead: :bored:

Plus I fly out on the 24th and I'm away from my tools for a week. I tried to explain to my wife that a vacation on a sandy beach away from my tools is not really a vacation. I'll have to get my fix watching everyone else hammer away at the timeline... :(

Maybe this is a Pavlov's dog type experiment

Hey @Scoops, curious about the rough dimensions on that there chunk of lumber. I'm a little more reassured that my little local lumber shop I've been frequenting has reasonable prices after seeing this. They also post all "board foot pricing" on the wall as well, so there's no hidden agenda or "tonewood pricing".

My chunk of zebra, roughly 10"x1-1/4"x50" ran me about $95. The one that hurt some was the giant chunk of Wenge I snagged. We're talking 12"x1-3/4"x70"ish was somewhere in the $100 range. None of the "off-cuts" were big enough to suit what I wanted to do with it. They wouldn't cut the big chunk down, so I took the whole thing. Don't blame them one bit, and even when he said "Nope, buy the whole thing" I said "Yup, had to try but totally understand, wrap it up."
