Winter Build Off 2022 - Get Ready

Trying to wrap up other projects.
It was 1:30am and cold in the garage, but that piece of Brazilian Cherry wasnt going to turn itself into shavings....

Found that Lace pickup.
I think I may be close to having all the parts I need. Just have to get some epoxy, varathane, and a new compressor. The old one died.

Just checking in to say that I won't be joining in on the fun. Still have too much other stuff going on to start a new project right now.

Typical Sat morning, sitting here, feeling like a pile of human garbage that fell off a truck and got run over 3-4 times and trying to make myself feel useful.
Started sketching out final design details with pencil and paper (can't post them. I don't want the gov to seize them. I saw what they did to Tesla).
I find it much faster and more fluid to draw everything out by hand. Plus, I don't have a program that can do curves and even if I did, it would still be quicker and easier to use a pencil.
What sucks is that when I try something and don't like it, there's no "undo" button at the top of the piece of paper. I burn through a lot of eraser.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm doing. Got the coffee on and lazily sketching on a full size drawing. My computer aided drawings always come out looking less alive somehow. Yes I know that was seriously cheezeballs.
I think I'd like to get a more advanced program at some point and learn to use it. I'm not against it, it's just the exhaustive learning curve with stuff like that, for me.
I've done a lot of stuff with Sketchup over the years, but nothing like a guitar.
If nothing else, it would be nice to be able to spin it around and visualize it in 3D. Especially if you could fill in with different wood grains/colors. The best part would be the ability to print out full-size 2D templates.

Well I'm behind the 8 ball. Ordered a body. I have a plan. I need some parts. Unfortunately the pickups I really want don't come in the finish that I want to match the rest of the hardware

The bridge I really like and the tuners I really like don't match. Just need to do some shopping...
Hipshot has an ebay outlet where they blow out scratch and dent, overstock, or custom orders they get stuck with. I got a gold, headless, 6 string bridge for $140. They listed it as finish flaws... but I can't find any.

Keeping an eye on Hipshot's ebay store is a seriously good idea. All kinds of cool non-stock stuff pops up on there from time to time and some of it is pretty cheap compared to their retail prices.
You know, it's not really fair to say that and then not tell us what you're thinking...
