It's all good. This is my first build. There will be lots of second guessing before any tools hit the wood!

I probably handcuffed myself buying a partial body that was routed and had the side Jack too low. I think I have more to fix than if I had just bought a mahogany slab and went from zero. A learning experience it will be

The deep fryer went off without a hitch (I knew it would 'cause I'm basically a wizard/chef). But the turkey was way too big, the whole plan was kinda last minute, so a few things weren't done effectively. Definitely doing it again at some point with a smaller turkey and more time for prep.
Speaking of time for prep...., I've had 2 mo. to draw up the WBO bass and I've been staring at it and tweaking it so much that I'm starting to not like it.
I hate when that happens.

Me too. In fact, I pretty much hate mine at this point.

Have it rough or level it with poly? It would be cool with a really thick clearcoat so its smooth like any other bass.

I would slice that piece off the log, thick enough for a top and leave the top surface rough like that. I would seal it with a top coat, but not fill it in.

We ate at my step daughter's house. My wife headed over there early to cook all day and I stayed behind to make the turkey to bring later (my wife was probably hoping I'd burn myself and the house down).
I only took one pic to send my wife to confirm that I was indeed cooking the turkey and not still sleeping, playing with guitars, or just ruining Thanksgiving in general.

I was expecting it up until I was about an hour into frying it. I was holding my breath for a long time
For some reason my wife bought a 26lb turkey for 5 people. Slowly lowering a 26 lb turkey, like, reeeeally slowly, into 350F oil is hard on the nerves and the back.
(Pro tip- turn the flame off during this part and get someone young, strong and without a bad back to do this part)

I'm gonna work on something else for a couple days and not look at it.

IMHO, each time I feel this way, it changes once I start building it. There are so many ways to add love through details and little tweaks. Plus, someone will love it. Even my ugly ducklings seem to have fans.

That depends upon how funny they found the event. Roaring with laughter can increase the time before it's extinguished.

I've seen full designs posted before it starts.

Wait until later for all of my ideas for next year. So far I have 6 specced out, 7 if the rest of the Kubicki doesn't turn up, all of which are so far beyond my proven skillset I'm sure I will provide much needed mirth and facepalming.

I can just imagine the arguments on whether it's better to use peanut/soy, straight peanut or "I just use the peanut/vegetable from sam's club and never had an issue".
