Anyway, I worked a bit on the nut and saddle.

I ended up making a new nut altogether.

I gave a hair more room on either side of the fretboard, and fixed the string spacing issue. They both need a little more work, but I'm getting closer.

What really is annoying is that I'm now thinking about a natural color top, but there are visible pencil markings underneath the epoxy resin coating I applied. It's a lot of sanding to get rid of them.

That's what I was thinking. But then those guys were making me rethink the whole color scheme. Now I'm so confused...

In fact, there's a whole "Black and Maple" club over in the bass section.

It's still not quite there yet, though the nut is probably there. I may have to slightly increase the size of the shim.
