Game Delay! My J-J pickups arrived as a P-J set. With no plans to re-route the jazz bass body, I'm now awaiting the order to be corrected and J pickups shipped out. Stand by!
Yeahhh a bummer but we can wait a little longer over here. The only real frustration is that the J bass won't be done before my son leaves for overnight camp like I'd hoped. We'll need to wait until he gets back for assembly and the first string-up.

Frustratingly, both basses remain unfinished as or early October. My wife broke her ankle over the summer and I've been helping her with recovery and taking on additional responsibility as she can't drive for at least a few more weeks.

#2 is pretty awesome though the coolest part is where the pickups wanna be. Could you cut pieces out to make matching pickup covers?
Matching pickup covers is the goal!
I'm really quite torn between the two layouts. Option A has a lot more deep burl in the white section, but Option B has those crazy red highlights through the center. Usually I see a layout and I know right away which one looks best. With this one, not so much.
Yeah, I like the second one as long as the figure in the center can stay or be pickup covers but either one will look great.
I would put a bridge and a pickup onto the drawings, to see how that influences the overall picture.
