Winter Build Off 2024 - Best Bass For...

Man, we've got a lot of really cool projects going on this year! I think there's more serious Electric Bass R & D going on here in Luthier's Corner, than there is in the rest of the industry. We're pushing the boundaries. This is a lot of fun.
I just got around to looking at the Best for Theatre thread. Wow! I like to play in sawdust a bit but that one is really heavy R&D. Honestly most of it is over my head but I'm happy to try to learn.

Perhaps a little off-topic:
I'm still very new here and only know this corner, but if the whole internet was this friendly and helpful, the world would look a lot better!

Funny you should say that. Yesterday I was reddit r/bass forum , there was a busy thread trashing talkbass saying its just a cold unfriendly place full of a bunch 70 year old just showing off gear. Personally I love it here.

I spend almost zero time in the rest of TB; maybe the rest of the forum is different than here in the LC?

The usual biases older dudes have. But I'm also older so I fit here better than I would on r/bass. Talkbass has its share of people who are going to continue believing whatever they first believed when they were teenagers in the 1970s or whatever, but it also has a pretty good number of people who've got hard-won wisdom and are generous with it.

Each of the sites has their moments of pointless fighting, to be sure. I guess it's a matter of which kind you've developed more of a tolerance for.

Yeah, today is the first one in a couple of weeks where I might actually be able to go make solder fumes. ;)
The weekend is looking fairly warm. I'm predicting solder fumes, wood chips, and crimped connectors possible Friday through Sunday
