Winter NAMM 2019 (ultra Pic-heavy)

I havent heard much about Devon basses before, but it that online builder they have is evil. Awesome, but evil. I dont have $3600 at the moment....

Man, @wintremute should just change his handle to @wintreNAMM at this point. Amazing ability to keep up with this thing. I haven't even had time to read all the way through it yet!

I've got a blog post brewing myself, was supposed to be quasi-live being my first NAMM, but I just couldn't keep up with the writing, just too much and too exhausted every night. I'll link it here when it's done, in case I got photos of anything that you guys didn't see yet.

My favorite bass of the show was probably the prototype Vox Starstream. Short-scale (30), 4 and 5 string, fretted and fretless, with that futuristic weird body with the disconnected wings... Prototypes are active but apparently the production model will be passive, and there was a headless version too that they said won't likely see production.

I also loved the Ric 4003s in metalflake black/gold with maple fb. TASTY.

I've asked this in a thread in the effects forum, but this one is the most complete one about NAMM so I'l ask here again.

Has anyone had the chance to check the Mooer GE300 or the Hotone Ampero?
If so, what are your impressions on these units and how do you compare them with the higher end units like Helix or Headrush?

I wasn't particularly focused on bass gear this year, and I think I actually spent more time looking at acoustic guitars and harps than anything else.

I took a few pictures of things around the convention that caught my eye, which I've attached.

The Boutique Showcase section was particularly good this year, with tons of stunning pieces on display.

Also, after spending hours in the Taylor room on Sunday, I am now desperate for one of their jumbo body Grand Orchestra guitars.

Back in Vegas, and I'm so pissed off at work I'm taking an extended lunch and posting pics.

3 years ago at NAMM, I was kicked out of the Ric booth.
2 years ago at NAMM, I was kicked out of the Ric booth.
Last year at NAMM, I offered carrots, and was allowed to look at the 5-string.
This year, enemies became friends.
