Speaking of Jule, it was a real privilege meeting both he and his lovely wife at NAMM last week. What an incredibly humble, soft spoken guy.... ironic since he makes one of the greatest 2500 watt power amps on the market :thumbsup:

First off, here's Nancy and me with our host, Dino Monoxelos The Ampeg Guy...after all these years of trying and failing, we finally meet! Dino ran their exhibit like a champ, and is one of the nicest guys on earth to boot. You see him in action at NAMM and you instantly get why he's their spokesman.

If you ever get the chance to see Marco Mendoza from the Thin Lizzy reformation and The Dead Daisies, you must. He is shot out of a cannon. And he played a metal-jazz version of Teen Town on a 6-string Ltd fretless that was unbelievable! But when he took selfies with us, he yanked the camera out of my hand and took 3 rapid fire shots, then he went around the room commandeering everyone else's phones. Good times. This was the only one that was almost in focus:

And finally, Nancy and me under the giant SVT shortly after I busted it wide open! They only let one bass player play it every hour on the hour. We no sooner met up with Hodgy and Dino, and Hodgy asks me if I want to play it to chime in 1 pm. I said, "Hell yeah I do!" They told me to play a chime and a lick and I did. We had to leave Bobby Vega's presentation a little early to do it, but while Bobby's a badass, you know I wasn't going to turn down a chance to play through the giant SVT! Man, that's a religious experience! It really fills up a hotel...not just the ballroom...the whole hotel! And I'm not much for 5-strings, but that Yamaha TRBX 5 I played was pretty sweet.

And for as much as people told me it's a bad idea to bring your wife to NAMM, I have to disagree. Nancy actually wanted to go and had a great time and made me look quite good in the process :D Love you baby!

I didn't know that giant fridge actually worked! Man, I missed meeting you AND I missed hearing that. Oh well...next year.

That big fridge was hoppin' on all 36 cylinders, too! They made sure of that. Sorry we didn't hook up, man, but after seeing it, I'm surprised anyone could hook up! No wonder it lasts 4 days.

Just from reading his posts, you can tell Jule is a beautiful soul! He has this class about him that actually comes through in TalkBass posts, it's neat.

He just lets his amps punch you in the gut! :bassist:

Jule is super nice and makes one hell of a product.
He is an old surfer and we had some cool chats about the ocean life.​
