I'm told it's at the Marriott, and that's all I know.

I go in, and see a line. I peek inside the door and see what looks to be a show, so I get in the line.

I'm at the Fender JammJam! Ok, but this isn't seceret.

First up is Mateus Asato. He was pretty good. I'm not sure who was playing bass, though. However, I did realize that I needed to move to see the bass players better.

At one point he was joined by Gina Gleason.

Next up, Char and Ichika. Again, not sure who the bassist is. However, I did see the drummer play with Ana the next day at a drum clinic (I was in the drum section to see Zeke play, and I heard her bass, I had to ditch Zeke and check her out).

Next up, Daniel Donato. Again, I can't remember the bass player's name. Uggghhh. This is one of the drawbacks of not posting the same night. I forget details. I do remember this, this dude was my kind of player. He mainly stuck to the grooves, kept everything grounded, and every now and then would put in a killer lick just to let you know...if he wanted to he could tear it up.

Ok, those first three bands were great. The crowd is loving it. And then...Nik West walks out - and I really mean this, you could actually FEEL the energy in the place go from 10 to 100. Also, I remember the bass player's name this time.

About half-way through her set, she says she needs two other badass bass players to join her, so out walks Ana Karina and Nicole Row walk out. They jammed the hell out of Prince's "Purple Rain". It was just epic.

As soon as they're done, I have to leave to make sure I get to JTS's to catch Tony's band. I make it, no problem.

By the way, it's right next to this cool place:

I got there just as Rodney MCG finished, so didn't get to hear him.

But, I did get to see Dig Baterre. They were great. On point, and great songs.

Then came Uriah Duffy. He was playing with the Larry Graham/Graham Central Station band. I put the camera away, and just hung out. I started out in the very back, but the music kept pulling me in, and by the end I was on the front row. For the last song, they had the whole room dancing. The best part was the lady to my left who was filming it. I don't know how, but as she was seriously getting down and dancing, she kept that camera super level.

So that was it for Friday. Epic night. Will be in my memories forever.

He's an old bass acquaintance of mine. He was friends of guys I played with for quite a few years in Boston. Great guy and killer bass player. Always makes me happy to see him doing so well. Happy you got to hear him!!

Great to see that you managed to have some fun as well as supplying us, once again, with a mind blowing stream of high quality pics.....
