the FENDER private meeting room? Don't mind if I do!

This guy got mildly annoyed because he was moving chairs, and I moved them to take a picture of the basses on the bottom. When I was done, he said "thanks" with just a touch of saracasm. I turn around, and I see three people waiting for me to get out of the way so that they can start their meeting.

But here's the pic:

One day I'll be brave enough to grab a drink and a snack.

I think these people were waiting for something or someone, and they seemed annoyed, like I was cutting in line. Nope, just taking pictures of basses. Now get out of my way!

This dude was handing out toy Gators, and very much wanted his picture taken. Dude was having fun.

At a certain point this happens every year, where I think I'm done and I've seen everything, and it turns out I haven't. I have no idea how many times I walked by Rick Turner's pad without realizing it was there. If @Passinwind had not taken me to it, I would have never seen it.

VISIONARY INSTRUMENTS had some crazy and very clever stuff going on. Stuff above my paygrade. What caught my eye was their video pickguard, which turned out to be an ipad.

Steve with the Bass Hang (and G&L) was showing off his custom purple bass. He even let me play it.

Turns out he was NOT giving it to me. I felt like I was set-up! What a tease! So as revenge, I'm posting this picture. @TonyP-, feel free to share this with him. Who cares anyways, it has too many strings, whatever...

Rick is as cool as they come too. So nice to finally meet him and play one of his basses, and a fretless one to boot!

TEMPLE AUDIO DESIGNS

These dudes had a VERY clever idea. Put a guitar amp directly on to the pedalboard. @Passinwind and I are trying to convince them to do this with a bass amp.

As I mentioned earlier, I was going to check out Zeke (Zeke Martin (@zzmartin) • Instagram photos and videos) put on a drum demonstration. I'm at his booth when I hear a bass that sounds very familiar. Just a few doors down is Ana Karina!

Back to Zeke, I was still able to catch some of his playing.

Then he was forced to take a pick with these goons. What a trooper.
