Bigger than anyone can imagine.
I've never EVER imagined a bass could replicate the sound of a cow so precisely.
Most fretless basses have plenty of "mwah" ...but this Wishbass has plenty of "moo-wah" I think it's cool!

Yes, t's very odd looking, but it's a terrific sounding and playing acoustic bass guitar...better than any Martin, Tacoma, and other brands I've tried...sounds closer to an acoustic upright than the others, too.
No, it's not louder than most ABGs, but it has a booming, echo-sounding presence like an upright which most ABGs haven't been able to achieve. The clip was a one-take (no rehearsal or prep of any kind) recording with obvious tempo issues, but it turned out better than we thought. In fact, that was the very first time I played with Wish (on guitar). I used a K&K Sound transducer pickup plugged into Wish's Marshall 100W .The sound coming from the amp is very true to the natural acoustic tone coming from the sound holes.
I'm just trying to figure out where I can get a case/gig bag for it. Any suggestions?

Tonally, that one had the most promise...perhaps it's the Kent Armstrong pickup and its placement with respect to the bridge.
The tone of the other ones is too bright (or too thin) for my ears.

One of my bass playing friends said "KeeRyeEast. Leave the bull alone. Stop tugging on its nuts. Agony. Moaning. Writhing. I couldn't take even a minute of it."
Pretty much sums it up, doesn't it.
The world would be a much duller place without Wishbass! I love it, man.

So, what sound qualities are lacking in your opinion?
For me it's hard to hear the acoustic in the video due to the guitar playing. Maybe when you have time you can record it in a quiet room just on its own?
Good point. The guitar was a bit loud compared to the bass. I didn't bring a preamp for the K&K pickup and had to turn the volume on the Marshall bass amp all the way up (still not loud enough). I do hope to record again in the near future...perhaps a truly unplugged clip.
hahahaaa, not a 3rd time!?! why am i finding so many whisbass threads. i just wrote on the other 2, this is funny. i got the hyper from e-bay recently, and love it. i've never seen another one in person, so i dont know, but all the bad stuff people have said, i see none of it. mabe the noisy electronic stuff, but hope to fix that. what a great time i had reworking it and it sounds great. if ya wanna finish somthing yourself, this is a great thing.
