any tips on quieting down the electronics?
Are you getting a lot of hum from your pickup? If so, you can try using copper shielding tape to line the control cavity (www.stewmac.com carries it). That may help. I find "hum" problems are usually associated with proximity to the amp and other electrical gadgets
(computers, lights, etc.) nearby. Also, does your amp or preamp have a ground lift switch? You might try that. Unfortunately, a single EMG Select or Kent Armstrong Soapbar pickup (both single coil design) will produce some hum, but you should be able to reduce it to an acceptable level.
