You know, I had no trouble with the concept that I was buying a bass that was simply "roughed out" for me to finish. I don't have the tools necessary to route a truss rod channel, or laminate a neck-thru, or put in 12 frets so I just paid Wish to do that part for me, then I got out my sandpaper, Tru-Oil and went to work.
Put in a set of Lace P-bass pickups, a concentric tone and volume control, and grafted on a scroll from a broken cello to the top of that upright-like headstock. I also shaved the neck (which has a truss rod) down to be sort of in the fat-Precision range.
But I like it, and it actually sounds pretty good... well worth the money.

That control plate is very nice. Love it!

There's Daddyo's music shack here in Springfield. The owner is a bassist and would always be up for something like that, I would imagine.

Did you set the bridge?

Alright...it may seem like I'm stirring the pot, but I have a question. How do Wishbasses compare with Dave Pushic basses? I know it's a different price point, but then again, the quality seems a lot better. Yet, both of these luthiers get a lot of flack on here.

Dude - where'd you hide the output jack?

Yes, I set the bridge. It had to go all the way to the back edge of the body, but it made the intonation correct: nut to fret 12=fret 12 to bridge.
The output jack is on the bottom edge. I used a small Carvin jack plate.

I know this thread is kinda old, i just wanted to post this pic. Personally, i like wishbasses and i plan on buying at least 5 or 6.

That's a really nice lookin' one Bryan. I haven't had any 5-strings, but I did have ten 4-string Wishbasses at one time. I'm down to five now, all of which I'm keepin'.
