Double Bass Wooden endpin?

Have you ever tried this wooden endpin? Thoughts?

Any other adjustable wooden endpin on the market besides the drumstick trick?

I recently acquired a bass with this endpin. I've never heard the bass with a regular endpin, so I can't say much about the sound. But, it looks great, it's light and it hasn't slipped on me. The pin itself tends to be a little sticky moving in and out, but not so much that it bothers me. I'm happy with it and I don't plan to replace it. The only reason I might, would be if I wanted to use a wheel. I wouldn't want to wrestle the whole pin out every time I needed to use the wheel.

I had the all Rosewood endpin from Lemur on my old Engelhardt. It really made a drastic improvement in terms of tone and volume. A dab of whiteout helped keep the height consistent.

As far as drumsticks go, I've never had much luck. They would almost always break off leaving a hard to retrieve nub in the hole.
The exception to that was a pin made from a marching stick (the old Dennis DeLucia signature I think). It was thick and impregnated with a plastic which made it very strong. Can't seem to find an equivalent these days.
