World String Change Day...

Didn't realize this was a "thing", *coughs*, er, um marketing gimmick. Nice try.
I finally got around to installing the Pressurewounds I got 6 months ago on my Franken P this week. So far, I like 'em but need some play hours to get them settled in.

D'Addario says today (June 6th) is World String Change Day. :hyper:

Rounds players, sorry for the extra expense.

Flats players, please carry on. :D

Ironically, I've found that the D'Addario EXL165 Nickel Wound roundwounds that I have on a bunch of my basses start sounding good again once they've aged past a certain point. As long as they can still play in tune, they remain.

It's a cute gimmick but humorously I change strings about once a year on most of my basses and as an academic I do it in the summer--did four of my basses this past weekend. Honestly a lot of the time it's just an excuse to clean the bass, polish the frets, oil the fretboard, etc. all of which is easier to do when the strings are off.
