Worlds First Drum Machine in Pedal Form!

MIDI would sell it for me- I need something like this to use with solo looping with my Boomerang III, but a drum machine without MIDI out is a no-go for looping!

We're working on adding midi sync. Hopefully it will make it into the first model... stay tuned!

Now if they can just make it take up way too much room and drink all the beer I won't need a drummer. The only flaw I can see is that it doesn't speed up or slow down for no good reason.

LOL! Yeah, we're also working on a feature where the BeatBuddy insists on playing one of 'his songs'

Will this be able to do Latin rhythms .. Cumbia.. Machata.. Mernegue .. Salsa .. ? Sounds good.. How many songs/minutes will it be able to play for? Will it have expandable memory?

It can play any midi or wav file you load into it -- so any rhythm you want. We'll be working on expanding the content on a continual basis.

On a/c power it can play indefinitely. We're still testing 9v battery performance.

If your files are midi then you can load the maximum number of songs (8000 total) without the expandable memory.

But if you want to use wav files as tracks -- It has an SD card slot that you can load more memory.

Excellent!
Could you program it to turn up late for gigs too? ;)

HAA!

for the kickstarter campaign one of the perks will be a t-shirt that says:

My BeatBuddy:

1. Never turns up late to gigs.
2. Never changes the beat 'cause he feels like it'
3. Never steals your drink.
4. Never gets drunk and hits on your girl.
5. Never pukes on your favorite guitar.
6. Never gets into fights with the bouncer and expects you to back him up.
7. Never insists on playing one of ‘his songs’.

c'mon guys -- come up with more! :-)

david - as demonstrated in the video, would it be possible to have more than just two parts (i.e verse+fills/chorus+fills/bridge+fills/ending, etc.) to a song?

will it be able to do odd-meter? 11/8, 3/4, etc

Also regarding samples - would you allow the user to have multiple user-kits? Being able to load in my own drum samples would work great for me so I'm definitely interested.

yes, you can add unlimited song parts. you just add them in the order they will be played through the computer interface software.

you can load your own beats (any midi or wav file) -- so any time signature.

you can load your own drum sets -- the BeatBuddy can have up to 8 different drum sets at a time -- but these are fully customizable. You can make a drum set out of any collection of wav files.

You're going to sell a lot of these.

Sold! Just make sure it doesn't help load in or out and you'll have a winner. Oh, and can it spend 1/2 hour "tuning" as we'll? And it's gotta make pointless banging noises while the band is discussing boring things like, chord changes, keys, etc. I think you'll need to make sure it's upgradable so these and more features can be added.
