Worship Bass Pedalboards

Been using my church's BDDI for about a year, decided I wanted one of my own and found a sweet deal on a 3 channel. The rest just kind of happened. Board is a bunch of spray painted 1x3s.

I've been checking out the Anadime and somehow I'm just not hearing what everyone else does from these videos. I'm going to research it further since so many seem to love it dearly. Maybe there is something I'm not hearing or something I'm missing. What is it about the Anadime that was it's big selling points for you guys? I do like the HPF feature on it. Seems to really help it out a lot.

For me personally, the tweakable HPF is it! I like to use chorus on ambient bridges in songs...playing up an octave. I can set the HPF to only catch that higher octave so I don't have to mess with turning it on and off during a song. The lows stay straight and the highs sound glassy and moving.

So Im still hunting for a preamp to use for service (and outside Church) and after looking into darkglass a little more my interest was peaked. At first I liked the versatility of the alpha/omega as you could blend the different distortions etc, but after listening to more and more sound clips, Im not too sure that I care for the tone...sometimes at all. Looking into the b7k and vintage deluxe Ive been torn (as it seems many are). These comparison videos have moments of love for each of them : /

Anything Darkglass related running into a DSM Noisemaker OCSD is pure bliss when playing ampless in church (and maybe with an amp, but I haven't tried that yet). I've only personally tried the Vintage Microtubes myself, but I love it. There are videos of the OCSD on Youtube that show others playing other Darkglass models into one.

FWIW When I started looking into the darkglass stuff I initially thought I would lean towards the vintage pedals than the B*K pedals. In my opinion if you were going to use only one pedal and go direct, thevintage pedals are more traditional amp sounding thank the the B7K. The B7K is a great tone shaper and distortion pedal, but not so much of the amp-like feel, if that makes sense.

^ Agreed. Again, I haven't used the rest, but the VMT sounds very amp-like in its overdrive, and the OCSD just brings that home and helps you dial it in just right. The others sound a bit more "distortion-pedal-like" to me from what I've heard online.

I would say if you are going to use one pedal to go direct, it's the OCSD. :cool:

With the right cabling and a clip on tuner, I could conceivably use only the OCSD. Use the OCSD DI (as I currently do) to the mixer,
send my IEM feed to the aux in on the OCSD
plug my IEM's into the headphone out (with volume control) of the OCSD
use a clip on tuner

Thing is I like the quick tap and mute/tune of a tuner pedal so I'll probably just keep using my Nano board. It's not that big a deal.

FWIW I use my Alpha Omega Ultra with an IR of a Boogie Powerhouse 1000 on the cab sim and it sounds amazing, no OD, straight to FOH.

Just curious. How come you use the headphones in your Rolls vs. The OCSD?
