Thought it appropriate to post the board I don't use at church.

My new pedalboard is fantastic!
Running two separate channels, with separate EQs and compressors. TC for clean and Darkglass v2 with cab sim for drive. DI's are then blended together with a Radial Mix 2:1.
Sounds just like a real amp that's been miked up with a pre-DI.

Mostly for the bleeps and bloops; the sample and hold feature makes me grin.
Actually, the Darkglass Super Symmetry (compressor) and Vintage Microtubes Deluxe are what I consider my core pedals. I will continue to experiment with the OCSD, though. I hope to get some time tomorrow to experiment with the OCSD and my fretless bass.

A few weeks ago, I recieved a gift card out of the blue and decided to pick up my first pedalboard to see if it would speed up my setup and tear down at church. I went with a Voodoo Lab small Dingbat board with a pedal power 2 plus (combo package). I am saving up for an OCSD at the moment. I had the Sparkle Drive laying around and decided to add it to the board at the moment to add more gain/clean boost. I will may remove it once I get the OCSD.

The Spatial delivery is on my short list of filters to try - I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and what filters you've liked in comparison. I have a hard time getting rid of filters, so I'm hesitant to add another to my current trifecta. That said, I'm also quickly becoming an EQD fan and would like to try more of their lineup.
Just picked up the Avalanche Run V1 after enjoying the hell out of my Grand Orbiter. The NightWire, Spatial Delivery, The Depths, and Acapulco Gold are also on my longer term list. The Nightwire & Depths don't strike me as frequently appropriate in the band setting, but there's something to be said about those pedals giving me a creative kick for writing and developing ideas on my own.

Have a signal routing through a Duncan Studio Bass, to Bass Chorus , soon to add a Geezer Cry Baby, then to a DI Box, the DI box then splits to a Rolls MX124 mixer for the clean as well as looping the THRU back to pick up my Alpha Omega Ultra, which is then fed to the Rolls as well. For additional goodness, the 1/4" outs from the Alpha Omega Ultra will (as needed and allowed) be feeding my GK 1001RBII and 410 cab mic'd with an Audix D6 of F6. All of that goodness can then go from the Rolls output to FOH.

Reverb/Delay.
Got to mess with it a bit today. Sounds excellent so far. Tone knob is great at keeping the low end or cutting it out on the repeats. Still need to dive in deeper since it has a ton of options and sounds in there.
Not sure I'll use it for this weekend unless I can make sure I get it nailed down beforehand. An out of control delay would be devistating to our service lol.
I spent some time laying at the new board after church today. I was right, always buy bigger and I'm not sure I bought big enough, but it is what it is for now. It isn't nearly as heavy is I feared it would be. Although, I would not want to tote it on the subway. Everything powers up and should be connected. I'll sound check it tomorrow. I decided to wait before buttoning everything up for one good run through. Plus, I need a few more cables of different sizes and ends.

Well, the inaugural outing of my OCSD was a success - positive comments from the other bassist (on acoustic guitar when not on bass) and the sound person. The OCSD really fattened up the sound of the bass and made it a little more punchy. Bass this morning was a Fodera E5S into a chain of turbo tuner, Darkglass Super Symmetry and VMTD, Eventide H9 (warm chorus used) into the OCSD. The head was a Genz Benz Streamliner 900 with the DI pre-EQ (not that there was much) into an Accugroove El Whappo. On the last song (Reckless Love) I used both the H9 and the OCSD - worked great!
Second service was a bit interesting - after the 1st service I got a new set of batteries for my music stand light as it was getting dim. And...I forgot the light back stage when I went out to play. Good thing I had the music memorized as the lighting was not good for sheet music! Put that together with a new pair of glasses and I gave up on reading the music. Despite the anxiety (or maybe because of it!) I played better second service than the first service.

The million dollar question... how good is the REDDI compared with say (my) Radial ProDI?

1. it's HUGE!!!!!
2. it's EXPENSIVE!!!!
Your thoughts please... not buying (my wife would just give me "that look" and that would be that...) just interested as to are these sorts of things justified in a live situation? I can see the benefits of it in the studio, but even then...

I can't compare it to the Radial as I've never used it. I have used other DI's and while they work, they don't give me the tone of the REDDI. I asked a similar question of our FOH and they hear the difference. It is definitely warmer in tone than the others I've used. I would really like to be able to overdrive the tube and it's cut only. Still, I get incredible tone and the only thing I play through that I like better is my Orange AD200 stack. Is it worth it? Everyone has to decide that for themselves, but for me it is.
