Yeah, I like what these were doing tonight. With both the P5 with flats and J5 with rounds, I was just having fun tonight at rehearsal. I got everything I asked for out of them.
DI/Pre: church supplies a SansAmp Bass Driver DI. Sometimes I'll disconnect the SansAmp and use my Aguilar TH 350 head as my DI.
I have a very spartan pedalboard. Starts with a Boss TU-3W tuner, then ..
Compressor: Fairfield Circuitry The Accountant
hi/low pass filter: Broughton L+HPF
Used to play a 5-string. I've gravitated back to 4s for now, sometimes in Drop D.
Opened up the treble and the hi switch for this morning. I could almost hear 'em breathing

I've been debating the RNDI. Would you say you prefer it over the DI out on that preamp?
I have an alpha omega ultra that I'm running last but wondering if I should throw a rndi on the end. Exclusively DI at church, no amp usage.

Chicken or egg with the Aeros - I couldn't really explore it until I put it in my setup, but I couldn't put it in my setup until I knew how it would work because I play live almost every week. Anyway, I broke down and just did it. I'm still figuring out the Aeros, there are things I love and things I don't love, but it's going to work for the immediate future.

that is very nice board but why would anyone need or want to carry that many pedals?

Like a lot of things, not as much as I would like. It's one of a couple on the board that I've never used live. I had a very cool usable sound that I didn't get properly saved to a preset and I've had trouble recreating. I've thrown on some of the wilder presets on during practice just to show people "here's what I might do on the last week they ever let me on stage at church."

I don't think you're new here, so...
It's also a guitar board. Yes, it's a lot to carry, and that's the one thing that may eventually steer me away from it. I do use a lot of it live, not all of it. But it's also my integrated mess-around-at-home-on-guitar-bass-or-synth board.

As much as I loved my Empress, there's just something going on with the Cali that brings everything more to life, stand out and really shine..
The Union Tube & Transistor Lab is another recommendation for the purpose of "mwah" from a fretless.
I know a lot of people have the Cali so maybe I'll give it a try.
Still trying to warm up my IEM's. Not sure what to do. Thinking a better DI. Some say a high pass low pass filter is the bomb. Just don't know what to try and experimenting is expensive.
The Cali isn't really known for warming up your tone. It adds a extra bit of sheen and clarity and makes anything sound bigger. I've owned 2-3 of them and loved them but they are famous for the openness they add to your tone.
