Here was a pic of my setup. Going to sale the Trickfish as it's really good but I prefer the Starlifter better.
More traditional... that said, I've been too busy of late, but anxious to try it in my GR2 effects loop. I've also got a Broughton SVD...need some time to sort those three pedals out!
DI/Pre- Sansamp BDDI v2
Compressor- MXR Bass/studio Compressor
hi/low pass filter- ??? what's that...
Jk I kinda know what it is, a bit scared to use one though because i don't want to mess up the sound guys
DI/Pre - For DI it is always a Studio One. For preamp, sometimes Silver Deluxe, sometimes Super Stack, sometimes Suncoast F2P.
Compressor - None, unless I am using my HxStomp, then I usually use the LA Studio comp block
HPF/LPF - Studio One or a HPF/LPF block on the HxStomp (if it is on the board that day)
DI/Pre: Sansamp BDDI V2
Compressor: Boss CS-3
hi/low pass filter: none (whatever the sound guy does on the board)

It's def pretty sexy. Sounds good too. Will get a little workout at rehearsal tonight.
I don't expect my board will change any going forward, at least with respect to these core pedals.
i'm anxious to see how it sounds this weekend. I'm back to my Radial JDI which is probably the best DI I have used. I had an Avalon U5 many years ago which was also very nice, but for portability, sound quality and price, hard to beat a JDI. Our sound guy said if we have time after we're set we can experiment with som HP/LP filter stuff.
I'm not sure how serious I am about a compressor. So many people use them and there are times when my playing isn't as "consistent" as I'd like, but I think I'll stay the course and work on my technique.

Have a Shift-Line Olympic that I'll pick up from the Post Office today. This will take care of Preamp, DI, and High/Low pass(Cab sim) duties. I am using a Broughton Apex for compression set very conservatively. When I did in with a pick it brings down 1-2 db according to the metering. I also have a Broughton Always on HPF at the beginning of my chain set to around 50Hz.
I'll probably stick with what I have for now. My basses and rig and little board seem to serve me well. Once I tame the P bass I won't have the same desire for a compressor. I'm probably going to upgrade my synth before anything else. There's just a lot of stuff out there that uses a synth (worship included) and my microKorg is OK but every time we add songs (mostly cover but some worship) more and more of them are or have a predominant synth bass part. I have been holding back on practicing much (I do enough to learn the part and play well but not enough to be able to "improvise" or really edit sounds) and getting better at synth, but maybe I just need to suck it up.
