Worship Bass Pedalboards

We play for our Church services on Sunday mornings. Usually Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) but not exclusively.

As we, pagan european, do not go so often at church, no wonder why I never heard of that kind of band. Might be nice to go to this kind of service, all I know here is just that old wanabe electric organ that sound, lets say, a little too solemn.

@Neko You could watch some Worship services from USA churches online. Many stream via the Internet.

Sounds fantastic with the P bass. Not quite as convinced with the active fretless. Gonna play fretless for the 2nd service and see how it goes.

You could always stomp the bypass switch and still take advantage of the DI sparkle...I'm assuming you have the make-up gain knob at unity.

For some reason the bypass isn't working when I have something plugged in the 600 ohm "DI" out.
However, with a slight EQ adjustment, the fretless is sounding great. Even our singer noticed. Sound guy is in heaven.

This is the kind of set up that people are talking about. The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club - a randomly chosen video of a service by the church in the States one of the guys who posts here plays at.

I reckon you might be surprised at how many of these types of churches there are over this side of the Atlantic... I see you're from Lausanne, some friends lived in Lausanne for a few years when they were posted over there with work (they're back in the UK now) so I know there are at least a couple of churches in the town that use more modern worship styles. They used to go to one called something like The Lausanne Gospel Centre or The Lausanne Gospel Church or something.

I might be wrong with DI signal path control, as I always leave the pedal engaged...it works fabulously with all my 4/5 basses, including RA acoustic. @scubaduba would know for sure...

Ime, the LA-1A is a rare pedal...one I've continued to appreciate more and more, well after the "new pedal excitement" wore off. It's a r-e-a-l-l-y good piece of kit.

To be clear, I am an atheist, not the kind that like to poke fun out of people who believe, just somebody who respect religion and is actually interested in the philosophical and historical part of them, but I just do not feel it the way you guys do. So I what I recall from church is from childhood...might have changed I guess.

The balanced out is always active. There is a 3-way switch gain pad.

Lol! In the case of some churches quite a bit... in the case of many others, not in the slightest bit... for several (hundred) years!

I like that the compressor didn't kill my "mwah" on the fretless. My sound guy was dancing in back playing air bass today. He NEVER does that. I'll be ordering one tomorrow.

I'm looking at different comps.. since I had to sell my Cali76 CB a while back..
I picked up a Keeley bassist, got a good deal, it's ok, it does what it's supposed too, but it just doesn't have that sweet special sauce that the Cali has...
I'm just gonna sell it for another Cali
