I've learned it doesn't have to be expensive to sound good. When you find the right gear for you, you just know it. There's something about that Golden Face that is incredible. It boosts something, maybe low mids?, in just the right spot to really make the tone punch through with a pick. I don't like it so much fingerstyle. To me, it's kind of a one-trick pony. But it's the best pony for the trick. (That being said, I'm currently selling it and a bunch of other stuff on Reverb because I dug myself into a serious hole buying pedals in the past few months and I'm only playing once every few months anyway. But if it never sells, I'm okay with that.)

Sometimes gear isn't worth enough $$$ to justify selling it, especially if you really like it. I have a P bass copy like that. I paid $70 for it at a pawnshop, slapped a set of geezers in it, and I wouldn't sell it unless someone offered me 300 bucks or more.… Not gonna happen so I guess it's mine forever LOL.

Right. I have thought about that as well. I had it posted a while back and it didn't sell, so I kept using it, which is also fine. But I owe us like over $1,000, lol. Every penny will help. And I have since purchased other options that I think will work well too.

Years of leading community groups and our growing family and new desires on our hearts have all led us to this season of saying goodbye. So many people there are like family, and I'm especially going to miss my musician friends. We've been with them for 12 years.

it might be many months before I can play at the new church, so I'm kind of down about it all tonight.

When I first got into wanting to try flats, I had been playing Ernie Ball regular slinkys forever... so naturally I figured I'd give their flats a try first.. I absolutely hated them.. the E had no life, and they felt, for lack of a better term, sticky.. I couldn't move my fingers well enough to play them..
Tossed on a set of LaBella 760fl's durt cheap from the classifieds and BOOM..love at first play.. they're on my Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn...
A ( very )close 2nd were the Sadowsky Blue labels someone gave me to try..
I had DR black beauties on my D lakin jo... I liked them a lot... but buy howdy!! Something magical happened when I put the Sad's on it... they absolutely brought that bass to life... and they felt amazing, just like the LaBellas

I had the Slinky Falts on before the the Pressurewounds and enjoyed them. Wanted to compare the two sets in a mix before making a final decision. We'll see if I still like the Slinky Flats after having the pressurewounds on.

I only have flats on one bass, but TI's are awesome on my P. Nickel rounds for the fretted and fretless 5's.

TI's on the 55-01. Sound great with the Bartolini P and J soapbars that are in it. I want my 55-02 to have a little more of a bright sound which is why I am comparing the EB Slinky Flats and GHS Pressurewounds on it.

I was using Dunlop flats on my main P bass. I just went back to XL nickel wounds on it though. Not sure where I'll move the flats to now. Our church is streaming online now with no music... so I can play around with rearranging my pedals and strings. Come to think of it, all my commercial gigs have been canceled as well. Stupid virus...

What made you switch from the Dunlop flats?

I would run the Oracle in to the effects loop of the Stomp. Then in your Stomp chain just add an Fx Loop block before the cab sim/IR block.

My new-to-me RNDI came in today and I am having fun with it. I have moved my JDI to my BeatBuddy and using the RNDI with my bass. For now, I am just running everything through a small sound board at home but hope to try the RNDI at church in the near future and see how it goes. I am still moving things around my small pedal board to see how to integrate the RNDI with it. I may just go with the RNDI and my tuner pedal (using a Morley power supply) and skip the pedal board altogether (at least for late night rehearsals so I have less to set up and tear down). Will see.

How is your experience with the RNDI i.t.o. noise? I'm thinking it's probably dead silent?

I'm thinking of ordering either the RNDI or SLO to replace my Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra - its DI hiss issue has drawn comments from every sound guy at every venue I've played and I've no need for the broad range of distortion it has to offer any more (I've fallen in love with the tone of my flatwounds, and the AOU's drive/distortion sounds better with roundwounds - just my opinion).

I'll be running a Harmonic Booster -> SuperSymmetry -> DI from a JMJ Mustang bass with flatwounds, so a very basic setup at this point (saving up for the HX Stomp in future), but I'm torn between the clean, great sound of the RNDI vs. the tube goodness that the SLO will add (and option of drive if needed).
