like the other guys said, there is a mute/tune button or you can assign an external.

you can get balanced out from the stomp, you just need a 1/4 to XLR like I assume you do for the LA-1A ... how are you handling ground lift currently?

FWIW; I use the "LA Studio Comp" in the front of my chain which is a LA-2A emulation. I don't own an actual LA-2A so I couldn't tell you if it's accurate or not but it does what I want it to

"Jury is still out" on my HX Stomp experiment...but meanwhile, I worked on my non-tube DI board, and pedal combo is set/dialed in...

Ran it direct into my Evolve50 PA system at home, changed the DG cab sim to "Forrester's Thick"...super quiet noise floor. Wish I had the XU when I was playing at church last time! I left DG preamp pedals for awhile, due to the tremendous cab sim hiss in our IEM bass channel, when using the original cab sim'd AOU. Everyone (including me) complained about it...

Took a chance on the XU, and wow...all the DG Suite cab sims are quiet/usable! The MBD-1 is a huge assist to getting beyond stellar clean (and distortion) tone out of the XU—drastic difference, if bypassed. I continue to use a DG SS, because it imparts a darker vintage vibe to my ears...which is my preference. So many ways here to build gain and preserve a minimal noise floor. My old Cioks DC5 underneath...

looks awesome! I never got to experimenting with running any comps or drives into my XU. I like it because it's SUPER minimal so I could, in theory, bring just that pedal to a gig and make it through (since it has the low comp + switchable drive + DI).

Thanks man, I did put a lot of thought I or this board based on what I will actually use on a regular basis. I knew if I built a bigger one with more toys that I wouldn't use very much I would eventually quit wanting to mess with carrying it. I go straight to front of house at church. I run in ears and a backbeat and honestly don't miss my amp.

I've since rearranged to make it easier to hit the chorus and redwitch, but here's my setup!
The FEA DB-CL splits freqs, so I have the low/full going into the Alpha-Omega then into the Tri-Mixer. The high channel goes into the Redwitch and into the Tri-Mixer.
The Tri then sends the combined signal into chorus (Julia), Reverb (Slo), and then delay (Rubberneck).
It's been fun sweeping the crossover freq to hear the different voicings with the Redwitch.

Perhaps not exactly apples to apples but I'd like to see a shootout of the SLO and Ghost Ridge.

I have had the Tone Hammer - 3 times! I REALLY tried to make it work for me but could not. The change in volume when you engaged the ACS (?) made it difficult to use live. I did like the tones I could get out of it and it sounded great but it was either use the dirty tone all the time or use the pedal as an EQ only. So I moved on. I love Aguilar equipment, the DB 750 is amazing (but the weight!) and I actually prefer their discontinued tube DI (AG 900?) to anything else I have heard.

Been working on my set for this weekend at Life.Church in Hendersonville (just outside Nashville). It's been over 3 months since I was last up, and I'm so very excited to be up leading again. I realized this morning that the 3 month gap is my longest "sabbatical" from worship music that I've had in the last decade. It's refreshed my drive for this music again!

During that time off, I did solder up some new patch cables with the SquarePlug plugs (which are awesome BTW) and made some custom length power cables. It made a huge difference getting the board even more tidy.
