I was just wondering what other bassist were playing for there worship band! I have a pedal board but recently took it apart and i'm going to start over and build a new pedal board! Show you pictures!!
Here's my board. The board itself is homemade. The signal chain starts with the Rapco A-B, it allows me to use two basses without any hassel, Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner, BBE Opto Stomp compressor, MXR Bass Octave deluxe, MXR Analog Chorus, MXR Bass Envelope Filter, Joyo Ultimate Drive, Tech 21 VT Bass (v2), Tech 21 BDDI.
The Opto Stomp IMHO is very under rated Compressor, quiet, no tone loss and does its job well. The MXR pedals speak for themselves, they do their job exceptionally well. Joyo Ultimate Drive I use to mix in a little dirt when needed. VT Bass... Emulates an SVT what can I say. BDDI used for tone coloration.
As you can see from the settings, my philosophy is to use effects like salt and pepper, I try not to over do it!
The BDDI feeds my rack which contains a Yamaha PB-1 preamp, DBX 166A Compressor, BBE 462 Sonic Maximizer, Peavey stereo Power Amp. I use an vintage (another word for old) Peavey 1516 cabinet. Pound for pound one of the best work horse cabinets I've ever used. I bought it new around 20 years ago when I sold my Mesa Boogie rig. It has a built in crossover, 2 Eminence 8" drivers and a Peavey 15" Black Widow.
I have 5 Basses that I rotate between depending on the set for the week. My main bass is a Fender Precision (see Avatar), Fender Jazz, Fender Fretless Jazz, Fender 5 String Jazz, Guild Pilot. All of the Fenders have High Mass bridges. The 4 strings all use a Gotoh 201B, The 5 string has a custom made Hipshot. All of them are equipped with Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounders. The Pilot still uses its stock EMGs and is the only active bass I own. I prefer passive pickups.
