I hate you.
ETA: But I would be reluctant to get rid of the Reddi if I had one. Ultimate "tone in a box" you can put in front of any cheesy amp or FOH.... (I know there are others, but the Reddi seems to match some people very well!.)
Well, the 1/4” they isn’t affected by the tube so putting it in front of an amp won’t do much. Probably the only negative against it. I’m not in a hurry, but if the Bergantino pedal can sound even close to my current rig, I’d be tempted to save the weight, space and set up.
I’m always learning something. I have heard so much about it and played through one once but had no clue about that. I guess I always assumed that it was worth it because you could throw tubes goodness in front of any old vanilla amp. I guess some of the other tube pedals (Oracle, SushiFx) would
be the solution their. Thanks! You helped me with my envy problem lol!!!!

I rerouted all my cables today, since I hadn't actually added the HX Stomp yet. The 3 plugs on the side are input and L/R outputs. I also have an XLR output from my passive di. Random question, has anyone made presets they would be willing to share for a Reddi type sound for the Stomp?

I took my own advice and bought a Spark this weekend. This is for when I will switch basses in the future or when I switch from active to passive on my Ultra Jazz. My passive is much lower output and I think now having a dedicated pedal for boosting to the same level is my best solution, but only time will tell. I have not rearranged my board yet to put it on or make space for it, but will play with it this week and let you know my experience.
When using other pedals, I've been noticing some coloration or another, plus I don't want to keep changing my pedal settings each time i need a bump, so hopefully this will be a solid answer.
I'll be curious to hear your review. This would be the simplest/cheapest way for me to go as well. But now that the Bergantino Studio B pedal is more of a reality, I have to wait and see if I'm going to basically redo my entire rig.
The IEM adventure continued this weekend. First, I was off last week and when I plugged in this week, no sound. I had sound in my IEMs so I knew I was getting signal to at least the end of my board. Finally they just hooked me up to the acoustic channel and everything was working. Had to re-eq me of course but that was expected. Next, the “fancy” IEM pack had the tracks coming through the drum channel and drowning everything else out. At first they claimed it was just a little bleed over to the mics. (The drum is in an aquarium, no bleed from FOH should be able to reach those mics.) Then they claimed it was only my pack that the others were working fine. I think it was I am the only one who turns up the drum channel. Maybe next week. Fortunately I stand close enough to the drum cage I can sort of hear it without the IEMs. I’ll say it again, I will be so glad when the whole “tracks” era and droning pad on every song is done.
Received the Pinstripe Pedal LWDI. As far as I can tell, it just a super well constructed, high quality DI that doesn’t flavour your sound in any discernible way, which I believe is the goal?
Haven't you got a gain trim pot on your active module? I was able to get my Nordstrand preamp pretty close to passive levels.
Not really; when in active, (it's 18V) and my options are PUP blend, then low mid and treb boost and cut pots. Technically, I could cut them all quite a bit I guess but that could affect the EQ a lot and I like starting in the middle and running the bass and mid up and treb down some. I can also control the volume, but I like to leave a little in the tank for those times you need it and it's a pain to try to find the right spot while you're playing.
The VTbass DI and Bassist are always on. I use the Deco on nearly everything. There is only 1 song I use the POG on but it sounds amazing. The carbon copy is mainly used on slower songs but sounds great if you don’t over do it. The X is an occasional use and I have it dialed in to be more mid-focused, great for when I want to stand out a little more in the mix. I just got the queen bee so I’m still playing with it, but I’m sure it’ll find it’s spot as well.

Radial Bigshot I/O. Input 1 is the lower-level instrument, input 2 is the higher-gain instrument which you then trim down to match input 1 with the gain pot. 100% passive, 100% reliable. I love mine.

Just curious, do any of you use a Moog at church? I know I have seen some in photos. If so, which model do you guys use?
There’s a few tunes where I think about brining a synth. Things with just sustained stuff, no “rhythms.” I have a Yamaha MODX6 that I use in my cover band. It works fine. Good sounds. Nice display. I label the patch with the song name and I’m good to go. That said, I sometimes wish I went with a Moog Sub25 or 37. Lots of people use the novation Bass Station. But for real bass synth tone, it’s Moog.
That is sort of my thought. I hate listening to pads played on a keyboard and just think a Moog would just add a richness and depth that I desire.

Yep. Everyone is gaga over the Sub 37 which is arguably one of the best synths made. But as a bass player, I think the Sub 25 is plenty. 16 presets is more than enough. It’s a little less complicated than the Sub 37, too, and less expensive. And it sounds awesome. MOOG!
