Mxr analog chorus is the best I've used (and have used many) been searching for it's equal since releasing it... side jacks...

I might try this Angel Wing Chorus out. Appropriately titled for a worship board. It sounds good and is a good value. And is small and simple, which I like.

it prob sounds great. Before I started building a pedalboard I was using only the Valeton GP-100 multi effects and it has some really great sounds. Impressive for the cost. Now I'm only using it to run cab sim until I get an IR pedal to complete my board.

I'm starting to like the Type One more. It's bigger than the Julia and mine is 12v, but it sounds great. For my needs, I like to keep the knob below 12 o'clock. It didn't win a spot on the board yet, but it's the top contender for the chorus spot.
Me too. The crossover setting makes it better than just about anything else for bass. I couldn't go back to a full signal chorus.
My only issue with it is the rate control is very gradual and the from 2 o'clock to 3 o'clock it goes super fast. It makes it hard to match tempo when most of the songs I play fall into that narrow window.

First Christmas Eve rehearsal tonight. 7 songs. 6 on U bass with double bass IR and 1 on synth emulating a cello.

For You And For me was Written by our Music Director. I think it can have a very Epic "Trans Siberian" feel to it.
I don't have a very good recording of it. This is from the regular Christmas service last year. We didn't have the full band and our two main singers were out. One left after the Christmas Eve cantata and the other lost her voice.

I dig it. I appreciate its bold musical elements. Unfortunately, in my opinion, it seems like a lot of Christian and worship music is getting more and more vanilla
When I listen to isolated bass tracks in MultiTracks, sometimes the bass effects are very wet sounding. Then in the full band mix, it doesn't seem like it. I'm doing well, and having fun, getting my at-home tone to sound like the bass recordings, but I'm having trouble with going for it at the services. We rehearse about an hour and a half before the service, and my IEMs don't reproduce the bass tone like the FOH. So, I have no idea if I'm being too subtle with the effects. I am thinking I should just go for it and it will sound good, but I'm nervous because some of the isolated tones sound really raw and driven. How do you guys handle this?
Rehearsal would be the time to go for it and try out the effect. Ask FOH to listen for it if it's something different than usual and see if they need more or less of it in the mix. Communication is key and rehearsal is the time to hash it out.
IME 90% of the time folks don't notice. I just tell the audio folks and the WL "I'm trying some stuff today, let me know if it's over the top". Most of the time I think they forget and tell me "it was great" at the end. Occasionally they will say "I liked the overdrive" or whatever it was. I think big changes for us are not really that big. On one occasion I added chorus to a song and the WL scheduled "Same God" for the next time I played lol
In the vein of what you're saying, I've had to go to where I think it's over the top before people notice anything I'm using on effects. So tell FOH and WL you're going to experiment, go wild and see if anyone says dial it back!
Thanks for the replies. I will go for it. The thing is, it sounds as close as possible to the recording, so I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary. We are all wireless, so I will also see if I can run out front and hear it while playing.
This is especially true for drive effects. I've learned to go about 30% more drive than what sounds right in my headphones isolated because so much disappears into the mix. Chorus is another story. At quiet moments it's very noticeable.
Im pretty much using my Stomp as an amp these days. Very little effects going on in my patches.
