Thanks for the info on how you're using the Stomp. It does sound nice to have a ton of effects in a small package. Most of my hold up is that I would be 'giving up' a lot of great tones that I already have in my individual pedals. Maybe the Stomp sounds better, but it's an investment to find out. I know I can always add a pedal or two, but I'd want it to replace everything. I'm also not thrilled about editing the presets, but it sounds like the bundles can really help with that.
I had a few more questions:
-How do the octave presets sound compared to the OC2, Octabvre, Subsonic, Mutron, etc.
-If I purchased a preset bundle, could I just load them once, then plug and play?
-Can I use the Cioks to power it?

- The effects are quite easy to modify using the HX Edit software.
- I have rigorously compared the HX's EBS Octaver to several octave pedals and the HX is my favorite, tracks very low, and tone sounds great. The HX's OC-2 model is not as good.
- To power a Stomp from a CIOKS you need two adapters. The 3050 for the larger plug and 8800 to take two CIOKS outputs and combine them to one higher powered. I will send both to you when I return the Grizzly!
Love the Brig! I traded mine with MikoFX only because of limited pedal board space and with the HX One Line 6 delays sounding very good - and because he had an unobtainable Broughton. But it would be high on my list to re-acquire. I find that for those light higher intros, bass with delay and some modulation sounds better than a simple chorus effect. Stomp in the tempo and it's very subtle but delicious. Highly recommended. Not a lot of folks seem to go the delay/mod route on their worship pedal boards, so I'm making this my thing. Sounds good with the "sky" guitar guys, just another interesting layer.

Oh, ouch. I use octave a lot for synth stuff. I can go without overdrive and chorus, but the Octabvre sounds massive.
Sounds do-able. I appreciate the offer. That would be great if you have some extras! Let's talk before you ship the Grizzly. I may have a Stomp by then, but I've been going back and forth for months.
You should like the bass octave models in the HX. There are two of them. I'm just saying I like the EBS model over the Boss. Both are there.

This is coming from a guy who didn't get on with the Stomp & ultimately sold it off, BUT I can say that without a doubt you'll want to use your Octabvre in conjunction with the Stomp if you decide to go that route.
The Octavers (particularly the EBS emulation) in the stomp are pretty good, but no where near the level of the Octabvre. I know several players who use the Stomp for just about everything, but have refused to give up their Octabvre. YMMV.
I see. That makes sense. I thought you meant that the HX OC2 isn't good compared to the Boss OC2.
Thanks for the reply. That is the one pedal that I am not sure that I can replicate. I like my chorus, but use it so infrequently that I don't mind giving it up for another one. My overdrive is cool, but the variety in the Stomp seems to make sense for OD. I'm happy with my comp, but I've been thinking about going comp-less for a few services anyway, to see how it sounds.
Never trust Reverb pricing on 3Leaf Audio gear.
The Octabvre has been difficult to get due to cult status & small production numbers, but they sell for $333 new. Here on TB they are typically sold for around $500.
Production runs are more than tripling in size this year though, so they may be more attainable direct.
Fantastic Octave. OC-2 to Mutron tones. Can do Clean + -1 or toggle to -1 Solo via a stomp switch.
Great tracking & filter tuning. Very cool aesthetic.
IME: The line 6 "Chorus" in the HX is very good and can easily replace a pedal. The OD's in the HX are much more guitar oriented and I've only found one I can use on Bass (Red Llama), YMMV. The comps in the HX are a weak link as are the cab sims. Thats just me.....
Unless you're really good or spend a lot of time on it, it's way easier to edit using computer software.
I used IMA's presets on a gig without any tweaking.
Load once and done.
I power with a CIOKS DC7.
I've seen the minis for around $450 or so in the TB classifieds. Which is still expensive, but much better than some of those Reverb listings. If you are quick at typing, they are even less when they drop on the 3 Leaf site, but sell out quickly. The builder, Spencer is trying to do his best to combat the 'scalpers.' I follow the 3 Leaf club, but not too closely. I bought my first one when they were just coming out. I sold it 6 years ago for $185 shipped. (I should have hung unto it, but at the same time, I wouldn't dream of listing it for $1k if I only paid $200 for it). The one I have now is the smaller version, which I like, and it has all the features that I need. SBL did a video comparing different octaves, but I'm not sure they used the best settings on the Octabvre.
What I like about it is it does the OC2 thing really well, but with more control over the output level. Then you can blend in a Mutron tone for some texture if needed. And it sounds massive coming through the subs.
I may try for some of the larger run pedals. I would prefer to have a single footswitch though.
If you land an Octabvre MKIII in one of the drops later this year you may find that someone is willing to trade straight across for an Octabvre Mini. It has a single foot switch, but has the same sounds on tap, although the way the mids sit are slightly different & many prefer it as a result.

I don't even use that. My Stomp is basically a compressor, some OD, and EQ as well as a direct box. Why I use a Stomp for that is it's small and there's no risk of bumping knobs and messing up settings. I want to plug in and go on Sunday mornings, not try to troubleshoot my rig. The rest of my rig is a G10S and two more switches for the Stomp all on a Mono Lite board with power underneath.
