I am happy to report that today is a Stomp GAS free day. That could change by lunch time though.
If I really think about it, I would most likely just use it for 3 effects, which I already have on my board...and I really like the ones on my board. I keep thinking that I would have this powerful effects engine at my feet, but, in reality, I would probably just use it for octave, od and chorus--maybe with a touch of compression. The synth effects sound interesting, but I haven't run into anything that I couldn't cover with my board.
There is a benefit in storing presets to preserve settings. That's something for the 'pro' side of the list.

Honestly, I don’t need more than 3 effects. But I do you is for my synth stuff and it’s nice to just label them by song name and scroll through them. That was you can have sight changes to an effect. Between songs without trying to do it live. So simple. Also small which I like. And yeah, knobs can turn and it doesn’t matter. And you have options for down the road.
That’s basically the IMA sig preset. And pretty much what use 90% of the time. Great starting place!
If I’m not sure what’s going on, that’s my go to. Plug my P bass in, turn that preset on and everyone’s happy.
Me, too. I use that most of the time, and for one of my synth sounds. I also have a few other synth sounds to scroll to.
I didn't even make it to lunch time. Who knew that Talkbass would give you GAS... Hahaha.
J/k. I'm sticking to the no Stomp GAS.
The synth presets sound interesting, but there is a Novation Bass Station available to me to use. I wonder if I should ask them to hook it up???

Oh yea, you've got plenty of room for it. I'd have to drop two pedals from my board for it to fit & that's not happening. I like my 125B sizes pedals with top jacks.
Speaking of pedal board space....how many overdrive pedals do you guys have on your boards? Do you ever swap them out based on the set? I want to stick with one, but I find that I like certain ones for pick playing and certain ones for fingerstyle. Or, I like the high gain settings on one but not the low gain, etc.
I'm thinking that the pick/OD combo comes up more than the fingerstyle/OD, so it would make sense to go with a pedal that does one thing really well than a pedal that does a few things 85%.

i always have a slight overdrive from my standard setting on my Sushi Box Particle Accelerator (I keep the gain at 3 o’clock) and I use my Alpha Omicron to add a more distorted overdrive but I’ve also been considering adding another one for a slightly more aggressive step up.
I like two have two gain stages: overdrive + something else (low-gain fuzz for synth, boost, or second overdrive). This way I have four levels available at my feet:
- No added gain (no pedals engaged)
- Level of first gain stage (first pedal engaged)
- Level of second gain stage (second pedal engaged)
- Level of both gain stages (two pedals engaged, stacked)
I have two overdrives on my large pedalboard….plus fuzz…plus tube preamp…
That all makes sense. I figured that people were stacking, and when I hear a great OD tone on a recording, it is more than just stomping on one pedal. I guess you have to, not just find two ODs that you like, but also two that stack well together. How much was that Stomp again? Haha.
