Worship Bass Pedalboards

Been soldering a lot lately... and always wanted to replace my cables from when I first put my pedalboard together a long time ago. Plus, it's been a while since I spray clean my input/output jacks.

Decided to use SP400 square plugs with mogami 2314 cable. Also got SP550-S TRS connectors for the extra pedal footswitches for my HX Stomp. The SP400's were really easy to solder... the SP500-S easy too... but just took a little longer soldering 3 wires.

Love how clean these connectors look... I think it shaved a few lbs too.

Pedalboard tested good and quiet.

This week's worship board. Thanks for MikoFX for guiding me into a couple of Broughton unobtainables and general consulting as I better learn to incorporate pedals into my playing. And I replaced my compressor with a Walrus optical device which sounds quite nice with a lovely feature set (side chain and clean blend).

My practice and preparation focus this week was on a new song to me, Jehovah by Elevation Worship. Fairly simple chord structure so lots of opportunity to work on charting, dynamics, tone/pedals, feel, tension/release, and smoothness. Going P bass with flats, again, which sound great with the octave and fuzz devices.

Very nice, Miko has helped me a tremendous amount as well. I'll again express gratitude to all folks assisting others elevate their boards in this thread :D

What are your goals for the board? Is this just for church use? Do you want a modular synth setup or something else?

A Xerograph Deluxe is a must.
I vote phaser over chorus because you can use it for synth modulation, but also to add interest to overdriven, running 8th or 16th note lines. Chorus is still nice, but I find myself using phaser far more often. Tremolo is fantastic for synth bass as well. But phaser and chorus are more versatile when it comes to bass guitar in general.
I vote delay over reverb. Both are wonderful for synthy sounds, but delay is more fun.

I'm 100% in agreement with you about Delay over Reverb! Super fun effect!!

Chorus really isn't my jam, but it does add some nice dimensionality at the end of a synth chain. I really dig Tremolo, but rarely use it these days. May have to change that though & also give Phaser a try while I'm at it... I should also see what other fun effects are in the H9 that I haven't messed with.

This board is strictly for church and if I'm being honest, its overkill past the tuner for our church. We have keys, acoustic guitar and drummer (sometimes). I just like to throw some extra effects in here and there to give it a little something different. I love reverb at home but Im not sure you can even tell when I kick it on at church. I only use it sparingly in some quite parts to add some dimension. No clue if anyone can tell. Delay would be fun with some verb lol. I like chorus and phaser. Would probably use chorus more at church tho but then again, if there are empty spots on the board then lets fill them lol

Looks like there is room for a Stomp there.
Or maybe a wireless receiver? Noble? Use the money for a smaller board, and, viola, no more holes?
If I had some holes, I would probably do another overdrive for stacking. I'm not 100% thrilled with my OD. But, I'm kind of at the point where I am actually thinking about going smaller...taking off my comp and Peterson (using the tuner in my wireless) and maybe going smaller on the OD and chorus pedals.

So, I've been collecting pedals and learning a lot. Some traded for, some bought, some still in a return window, and a loaner. Each week's assembled rig gets better and better.

Decided to put it all chained together and have some shoot-outs and placement/gain/staging exercises. We got a clean boost, compressor, 4 octaves, 2 overdrives, 2 fuzzes, 1 chorus, multi-effects, and the Bassrig. I learned quite a bit today doing this.

I still have 2 pedals incoming this week; Broughton Locust Star (Rat variant) and Pork&Pickle - to add to the insanity. I don't serve again until March 17, so some time to go divergent, then hopefully converge into something better. Actually, I will end up with two boards, a Mono Lite+ (Nano+) and Mono Lite (Nano) - so I don't have to make any final hasty decisions.

I agree... Me too!!! haha... I'm content with my current pedalboard, but the Temple would be nice to show off the cable management. I actually had fun making my patch cables on my recent cable management redo. It really feels like I've shaved off a few pounds removing all the pre-made patch cables. I'll be making my cables going forward... when/if I go to the Temple pedalboard someday. I think I recall you mounting your Khan VTDI under a Temple board? Did it clear without changing the feet? I might do that one day if I want to reduce the pedalboard footprint size in the future.
