I would revisit the Grizzly & consider an Origin DCX Bass. They will both get you in the general ballpark on their own, but if you can swing both of them the Grizzly into the DCX (I like to boost into the DCX so it's right on the edge of break up & breaks up when you dig in or play with a pick) may nail the sound you're looking to achieve.

How are you planning to use the DCX Bass with the CAPO?

Is there a unit I can run my bass into and a feed from a beringer powerplay pm 16 and then to my IEM's? Bass sounds terrible in the behringer, nothing like a aviom system.

I tried the DCX bass. One thing is that I was completely unfair to a lot of pedals. I played fingerstyle almost 100% of the time before I joined the worship team. Since then, I have worked the pick in a lot and quite like it..especially with an OD. There were a lot of pedals that I never picked up because I wasn't loving the overdriven finger tone....I still prefer OD with a pick to fingers. Am I alone in that?

You are not alone. I started using pick at about the same time I started using dirt pedals...

You are not alone, my svt patch with fuzz kicked on sounds killer with a pick… add in an octave and it’s beautiful.

After last night, I’m going to swap the khan out with the noble on the pedal board for a while to really play with it for a bit and let my ears adjust and then revisit the khan later. Gotta give it a fair shot.

So, I intend to run a Broughton SBM into the DCX to push the DCX into Saturation. Edge of breakup/breakup when I dig in. This will be my 'Clean' channel.

I'll run that in the Capo's POST loop, which will allow Channel A to be used for light OD, which can then be boosted by Channel B for heavier drive.

This is all in theory of course. We'll see how it actually works out & I'll report back.

I got to test out a new system in my friends church. He’s the worship pastor there and wanted to do a shootout with a JDI and my khan and noble. Luckily the sound guy showed up as well and it was just a bass/DI test for like an hour + with no other effects or anything.

the khan is definitely more transparent than the noble. You cannot hide ANYTHING. And the noble seems more amp like/musical/responsive to touch. But both are fantastic! I loved getting to play and hear both out in the room.

im going to let them borrow the khan for a couple weeks while i play with the noble.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's always interesting to hear others perspectives, especially when we've clearly had very different experiences with the same gear. lol
