When I was running that setup it sounded amazing at volume in the mix.
Have you tried running the LA-1A with the boost switch on? I used that as my always-on setting to add a bit of tube saturation… it's super tasty!

Oh yes. At higher volume -- definitely!

WAY WAY better than using the iPad in ear mix. Like you said, it's a total game changer for me. Stereo out goodness. Also I LOVE stereo mixes.

I've been tweaking my order and collection over the past several weeks. I'm getting real close at this point. I have a couple of fuzz pedals that get subbed for different tones, but the red muck has more bottom than the others, so it won this week. I also have a Meatbox, that I have a for a few songs. I'm just waiting for one of them to come back. Anyway, this was my rig Sunday.

I mean yeah… obviously that idea is cool. But I just like the idea of having a board this small that is capable of so much.

this is the biggest board i ever wanted to have (metro 16), but i wanted a volume pedal… cuz bass swells! and this was the only way I could make it happen. I tried so many pedal board builds with the PT app.

said screw it. I'll try this.

Volume pedal on a metro 16 with various pedals…messy but do-able.

I can't personally justify a quadcortex. Seems like a handy bit of gear. I'd be more inclined if I made more money in my gigs or if the church wanted a cleaner looking stage/alter floor and wanted to help subsidize.

Just out of my comfort zone.

It is so good. Especially when the ags is engaged. I experiment with things like this all the time and even when it goes against the "norm" I'm still like, that should work. And it does, for me. A really full, weighty tone. I've done this with my meatbox as well, and same thing. Just slays. Preamp into preamp into preamp... why not?

Edit: This send gets sent to the house mix and I have no clue what they do or how they affect it. I don't really care to know. Since I use the rolls I get to hear it how I like it and I'm happy. The sound guy doesn't complain, sooo..

I feel that. I regularly check in with the Worship Leader/FoH to make sure my tone doesn't seem out of place. I just go for the sound in my head that I like and then bring it in on Sunday's haha. I'll tweak drive and playing style for the set and such. So far they all dig it. Like you I like quite a bit of heft to my tone, and I think more individuality to tone is a good thing as long as it still fits the context. Everyone sounding the same is kinda boring. Just my .02 which isn't even worth that

I've been in a major trial-and-error season with my effects lately. I've been trying and flipping several pedals to see what suits me just right, and I think I'm settled (for now). The top pedalboard is mine that I keep at home and take with me for gigs. The bottom pedalboard is the one that will stay at my church. My church owns the Mesa DI, but all other components belong to me. The funny thing about my church pedalboard is that everything on that board is discontinued. It sounds amazing though, and I have no desire to swap anything on it right now.

If you need a starting point, check out "Luke Rice - Bass" patch if you can find it in the tone network for the QC. Was in the studio last week and tried it out on my buddies Quad, it was a great sound and had good usable tones for most stuff. FWIW Luke is Morgan Wallen's bass player.

You know, I ran some tunes today with my passive jazz into my Focusrite playing along with YouTube videos on the computer listening thru some Sennheiser $160 over ear closed headphones and it sounded awesome. My cheapest bass with zero processing.

Any of you use either of these and c an give me the plus and minuses for each? I've listened to what demo's I can find on youtube but would like to know from those using in worship setting.

Yes to either. The oracle will have some character to it. But the caveman will be more "clean". You'd literally be golden with either. Just decide if you want more neve console vs ampeg.

I haven't used either at a service. But some general thoughts…The Oracle will give you some eq options if that matters. I think both are good options, though one thing to consider is how they sound if you're using in ear monitors. That's where I find the differences to be most drastic. In the FOH it's less noticeable to me.
There are a ton of great options. The Capo and Tone Hammer are popular preamps.

No changes on my setup... but updates are being planned. No breaks this month... scheduled to play at a new church I haven't played at yet next week, then I a get 2 weeks off next month. Looking forward to sleeping in, driving to church, and enjoying service relaxing from a chair.
