It's actually about 900mA so a 2 to 1 adapter will power it fine or the crux. The presets will stay as long as you don't edit or overwrite them.

It's interesting, the back panel says 3A, but looking around online, it doesn't seem to draw nearly that much. I guess they are just trying to be extra safe.
It's a solid suboctave. I personally prefer the 3 Leaf Audio Octabvre MKII and MKIII for their tone and functionality, but you cannot go wrong with a Subsonic. The finish is good looking and the price is excellent.
I tried the Subsonic a few times. It can do the OC-2 type thing. I kept the Octabvre Mini because it was a bit more versatile with the tone knob and volume knob, but both are nice.
I havent tried the subsonic but I will echo that I love both my Octabvre Mini and MkIII
I had no issues powering the Stomp with the Crux.
Back up/Save the presets to your computer before your update the Stomp. After you update it you can reload them to the Stomp.
It does the core OC-2 tone, but better. Impeccable Tracking & can boost above unity. Hands down the best Octaver on the market, IMHO.
Broughton has the Subsonic in stock this morning. I grabbed one.
I spent a few hours with the Stomp. I can see this sticking around. I don't think it will be part of my main board, though, since I am happy with my core tone. The intention of the Stomp was to have something that I could put on a small board to cover the times when I need chorus for one song, or for when I want the Moog sound, but it's only one verse of one song--and I don't feel like bringing another instrument to cover a few bars of music. I would bring that board instead. Right now, it is sitting on a board with just the Stomp and the Tone Hammer. I may add a compressor to the front.
When I got it home, I was excited to plug it in and see what it could do. I liked some of the blocks, but I didn't hear anything that jumped out right away. I got a lot of great advise from @projectapollo and @MikoFX including about using the Edit software. Once I started editing some of the blocks, I was able to get a lot closer to something that I could see using live. I set up a block with the basics--octave, overdrive and chorus. I really like the octave patches, and I was able to get some nice chorus effects. I didn't get too deep into it yet, but I found an overdrive that I was happy with.
I'm not convinced about the amp and cab sims, yet. I've played some of the amps that they are based on and I haven't found a setting that sounds like what I remember. I'm sure I could play around with it and tweak them, but at this point, I'm not sure I want to commit the time to doing that. Maybe one day.
What really surprised me was some of the 'atmospheric' stuff. The sounds that guitar players use while the WL is speaking to the congregation, etc. I like some of those patches.
I did have a few more questions.
Is there a way to bypass the entire pedal? If I just wanted to use a block on one song, can I bypass the entire unit for the rest of the songs. The synth blocks are cool, but it would be nice to be able to put them in and out when needed.
What other pedals are you guys running on your boards? What effects can't you quite get with the Stomp?
If I edit a bunch of blocks, can it be restored to factory presets at some point?

You can bypass the pedal. I use a pedalnetics footswitch and switch 4 is "all bypass". Any footswitch will do though. If it's a set a forget thing then footswitch 3 can be all bypass, and so on.
The microsynth is a hard one to emulate, but doable, not a fan of the cab Sims at all. They sound nothing like a bass cab to me. I wish the distortion or fuzz wasn't so full range right out of the box I feel like I have to manipulate it with a lpf any time I wanna use one on the stomp. And yes there is a factory reset option. Just back up, back up, back up. And then back up again.
I've had a love/hate relationship with the Stomp since it's release, the updates have made this thing just top tier imo. From the routing options, to modulation, octaves, amps/preamp, even the drive options. The used market price makes it a no-brainer if you like fx.
Oh, I see. Thanks. I guess I can set that up in the Edit software? I also have a dual footswitch that came with the pedal. I do like the ones that sit on top of the unit.
I've never gotten along with amp and cab sims. The Element is cool, but I agree..most sound like an EQ curve and not a cab. Though, it could just be me. I'm sure if I dedicated a lot of time to it, I could make it work. But, at this point, I don't feel like it's needed.
In Moog news, our set for Sunday:
-Praise has a few bars of synth after the bridge. Well, probably more than that, but a few bars of just synth and no bass. I wouldn't bring out the Moog for just this one section, but since I will already have it there, I will throw it in.
-You Keep Your Promises. Moog intro, verse one, chorus one and half of the bridge. So, a good amount.
-Made for More. No Moog.
-Thank You Jesus for the Blood. I am going to try it when the bass comes in on the chorus.
I also found a nice trigger/sustain pedal in my basement from when I had it hooked up to a multitrack. I am going to trigger a few notes with my foot...like the hits on You Keep Your Promises. And maybe add a low 'C' after the bridge, before the drum break in Made for More.

Small little update for me. Added a Stingray Special to the stable and have been running that the last few Sunday's I've played. Really love it. Also added a Sushi Box Neptunium to the end of my chain and it's a fantastic pedal. Somewhat subtle but man when you turn it off you miss it. It seems to make the low end very deep but clean still. The HPF really tightens it up. Both sound great but I prefer how much depth it has without that engaged.
I love love love the gold hardware on the stingray. Some instruments just wear it well and this is one of them.
That is an awesome board. I've been tempted to try the PC2A or the Union Tube Lab comp. The cali76 v2 is amazing but it's more transparent than I think I want. Sometimes I miss the thickness and weight I got from the Lusithand Alma.
Thank you! The Union Tube intrigued me too. When I was researching between the two it sounded like the Union was more transparent while the PC-2A was a little more coloring, but also added more fatness so I opted for it. I run it pretty light compression wise I'd say it is doing more tone sweetening than compressing per say. I've heard great things about the Alma as well especially the second release.

Hello all. I just got notified by Jad Freer that their Tim version of the CAPO saturator/preamp is available in a small batch of 55 units, if anyone is interested. I ordered one. The TIM version replaces the B-Side preamp with a stompable effects loop. This arrangement has more utility to me.
