Spreading the GAS haha. It's a lot of fun to experiment with new and different pedals. There are so many great ones to try. The cycle is: go bigger. Then go smaller. Then go digital. Then go digital plus a few analog. Then go all analog. Then go bigger with all analog. Then smaller. Then...
It's a fun journey though.

R1 over the BMS.

It's the Cog R-1. It's a dual fuzz with octave. I like it because, well it sounds good, but I like it because I can put the octave in and out with a foot switch. Or I can turn down the fuzz on the second channel and have just octave down. So, it acts as a fuzz, an octave and an octave fuzz. And it sounds massive.
It's quite different than the BMS, and it doesn't do as much. But what it does do is fantastic sounding.

So, you're saying you want a higher threshold gate than what is internal to the pedal? I'd still put it after the pedal.

Updated RB Quad 4.1. BMS on, and new layout. Both the BMS and LA-1A are in effects loops in the HXS The HXS is in loop A of the LS-2. I can bypass everything if needed and go tuner LS-2 to Digbeth without volume loss due to gain matching with the loop B volume. Using the loopi switch for now while I wait for the pedalnetics side aux to arrive. That will get squeezed in between the BMS and HXS.

Tuner will be switched out for Shure GLXD16+. Using my old TU-2 as it is higher and easier to get to than my Polytune 3. Might need a small riser for the GLXD also.
Digbeth might get swapped for my MXR M81 and OE DCX Bass when it arrives.

First impressions of this board are great!!

Nice board! Do you always use the Stomp in snapshot mode? How does that compare to using the individual pedals for each effect?
I like how your board is so clean underneath. I always want to clean mine up and get the wires tidy-ed up. But every time I do, when I inevitably change out some pedals, I have to rip out all the tidy-ing I just did.

I don't always have the HXS in snap shot mode, but I use it the most. I have FS 5 set to mode switch so I can toggle between different modes, snapshot, individual pedals, preset change etc. I have my standard clean tone in snapshot 1 of every preset, snapshots of often used combos of effects, and then effects assigned to individual switches in pedal mode. I can then turn effects on and off within the snap shotwhen I change mode while in a snapshot. Some presets I have effects assigned to foot switches that aren't in snapshots that I can then access when in my clean tone. I hope that makes sense!

I often run longer patch cables than needed so they run around the outside edge or in the centre channel wherever possible to keep it neater. Makes changes easier also

Thanks. Great explanation. And great tip on setting FS 5 to toggle between modes. I'd be able to cover most stuff with 4 foot switches, but are a few situations that I wasn't sure how to handle. I think toggling between snapshot and individual pedals would resolve that.

We did a special worship night this evening. Much more spontaneous. Lots of ambient fill opportunities..... No Microsynth, swapped in a couple of Broughton's, instead.

I've been watching videos about your COG R-1 pedal. This thing is amazing. So many different sounds out of one box makes me want to dump my Aguilar Tone Hammer and move to this pedal.



Then I see the Amos Heller and Darkglass new toy and think is this the new "killer app" for bass tone and octave combo? A Tone Hammer and COG R-1 killer?

Do you use the TH as a preamp? I really like the R-1, but the TH does a lot of other stuff, especially if you use it as a DI, preamp, eq, etc. If I had to chose between the TH and the R-1, I would pick both.

Yes, I use a Tone Hammer as a preamp. I am crazy about the sound, especially for modern worship.

I've been using the JHS Kilt V2 for overdrive and fuzz, love this box as well.

I almost get a EH Bass MicroSynth sound when I throw in an octave pedal from my HX Stomp with the Kilt. I learned this trick from @projectapollo.

The end of my signal chain is a Sushi Box Neptunium. This little gem fattens up my tone. My poor man's Noble I guess, but I really like it!

I still think I'm going to get an EH Bass MicroSynth for my board as I love that sound for modern worship. I've tried everything to re-create it with no success. I even purchased several presets from modern worship leaders. Nothing compares to the real thing.

Yes, I am back to the David Funk board for this week after picking up another Kilt. Tone Hammer/AGS, Kilt in crunch mode, Bass Microsynth. Of course I always use the HX One for a variety of patches and tuner. It's actually a very simple board, 4 devices, and covers a ton of territory.

I had dinner with two of my WL's after a special service on Thursday and they both were very pro-Kilt and crunchy bass.

Not exactly a pedalboard question, but anyone out there have a good idea to hold IEM connectors together? Easy for me to accidentally step on my IEM cord and the connector gets unplugged at the wrong time. But, I need to keep it easy to undo so that I can quickly get off stage and keep IEMs with me.

I thought someone might make a clip that holds the connectors together by cannot find one anywhere. Any ideas out there?
