Worship Bass Pedalboards

We use wireless packs, but could you loop the extension cable around a belt loop two times and leave a little loose to plug in your IEMs? So if you step on it, your putting the pressure on your belt loop and not the connection. Or maybe loop it around your bass strap near the strap button?

Not exactly a pedalboard question, but anyone out there have a good idea to hold IEM connectors together? Easy for me to accidentally step on my IEM cord and the connector gets unplugged at the wrong time. But, I need to keep it easy to undo so that I can quickly get off stage and keep IEMs with me.

I thought someone might make a clip that holds the connectors together by cannot find one anywhere. Any ideas out there?

I went wireless for IEM's and Bass to be cable free... but Alclair sells a belt clip cable strap that could help...

That will help from stepping on your cable, but you might still forget to disconnect when you go off stage. Best solution is getting a combo bass/IEM cable. I got mine from XBass cables by @ExaltBass. This eliminates your IEM's from disconnecting from stepping on your cable... but it's easier to remember to disconnect when you put your bass on your stand.

Nothing crazy, this has been ol faithful since last February haha, except the Ray I got this summer. I did recently put Cobalt Flats back on it which I had previously used alot on my P Bass and I don't know why I ever drifted away from them haha. Today's service will be my last played for awhile as we are anticipating our second born very soon. Small break until March ish.View attachment 7128767

X-BASS Cables! Dave Lowe makes killer 1/4"/1/8" combo cables that have both instrument and IEM cables together in a shrink wrap braided casing the can be custom length, colored, and pick the ends you want with excellent workmanship and top materials. I've used mine weekly for about 6 years now and its still working great! Also make custom Pedalboard and BackBeat cables. Plug your ears at your bass and at your pedalboard!

I configured mine to have an extra 36" at the pedalboard end to go to my Aviom mixer. I also have an 8' extension for that IEM lead for at another church, and have the BackBeat whip as well for when I use that!

I put the connector from my IEMs to the house's cable in my back pocket of my jeans.
But I do get tangled up with an instrument cable and IEM cable at my feet. These combo cables look interesting.

Ever since going ampless, and playing at different churches with different musicians.... I just have to accept that GAS is never going away. Current CCM bassist like David Funk, Bryce Vaughn... etc... doesn't make it easy... especially this thread. Since most of the churches I play at have multitracks accounts, I use their Playback app to practice with. Listening to the isolated bass stems in playback... it's hardly ever a clean tone. This has also changed my playing style. Now I pretty much play with a pick for 90% of the songs. Guess my current pedalboard will going through changes in the near future. I can't wait!!!

I bought one of these belt clips and it works perfectly. I paid as much in shipping as I did for the clip but I didn’t need any other cables. Maybe buy a couple extra cable or something to offset the shipping charges.

Yeah, my Pirate Ship bill for 2024 was impressive, my first year trying pedals. Lots of flipping, for sure.

Pedals that have hung around and seem to be more or less keepers for my 18" board: Tone Hammer DI, DCX Bass, Bass Microsynth, HX One. If I swap out the Bass Microsynth, I can substitute in a drive/fuzz and octaver, currently Calamity/Subsonic. May go Kilt/Octamizer.

Popular pedals I wanted to like but didn't click with: Sushibox Finally, Doom 2, CAPO, HX Stomp.

Pedals I liked but don't have the room: Dispatch Master, Jive, Gladio SC, Punchline, Bassrig Black Panel, Damnation MBD2, Blue Collander Tremond.

Most frustrating pedal search: Chorus, all of them. Ended up liking the Line 6 Chorus in the HX the best.

Most unexpected positive discovery: Fuzz pedals. I like creamy smooth and I like crunchy explosive. Gravitated to fuzz over tube screamers and Rats.

Counter culture move: Dropped the compressor, too expensive, too much space, too subtle, redundant to FOH. Liked the Empress the best, especially the tone shaping thingy.

Out Of The Box: Rotosound Swing Bass steel strings. Makes all pedals sound better.

I usually priced things well in order to move them along, just part of the hobby cost, and would be happy to move stuff to other worship board thread members at good prices. Started dual listing on TB and Reverb and impressed with how fast stuff moves on Reverb when priced well.

I'm now retired and have adopted worship bass as one of my key "purposes" serving almost every week at several churches. I've been studying worship videos, player boards, took the wife to go experience Bethel.

A special shout-out to @MikoFX and @NickyBass for helping me and loaning pedals throughout the year. Awesome! Both of these guys have great taste and outstanding pedal knowledge. They were routinely bringing up pedals and brands I never heard of.

I've sold a lot of my 'extra' pedals, but I do have some that I'm hanging onto. If anyone is interested, I would part with my Tone Hammer, DCX Bass, BMS (which is currently out on loan) and maybe my Gladio. I don't know if I'd use them in the future, but if anyone is interested, I'd love to help out my fellow worship bassists.

I just thought that to solve for the volume drop in the TH when AGS is disengaged I could just use a clean boost in the HX One. And if I want to use Chorus etc just increase the volume of those patches. It feels simpler and less of a compromise than the other solutions.

I use an EQD Bit Commander instead of a BMS and the way I think about it is like adding a distorted guitar an octave above what I play, which also helps figure out when to use it.

How do y’all think about using your BMS?

I have a homemade version of this cable Headphone Cables

Essentially you plug the IEM where you plug your instrument cable, it runs in parallel and you avoid the problems you mention. I just put a tight cable wrapped around the instrument and IEM extension chord but I think @ExaltBass does a proper cable.

I have agreed with sonic choices you’ve made many times so I will ask what is it about the Loller’s? I know I could Google it, but I feel like I’m more inclined to agree with you.
