The square drive of the BMS has this different sound to it, like the rate of the fuzz is slower compared to many fuzz pedals out there? I hope that makes sense - I don't know how else to describe it. Like a V8 vs a 2 litre turbo? Being able to have compression start and finish of the signal chain makes a big difference also I feel.

The Aguilar Octamizer and Fuzzistor are under appreciated devices.

Update: I donated the Novation Bass Station to my main big church for a permanent bass player set-up. They are pleased to add it to the arsenal.

The irony. I'm considering selling my Moog to get a Bass Station for portability (and some cash) but then I turn it on…

Done for a bit I think! Really happy with the tones coming out of this, and aesthetically I like how it has come together. Need to play around with the BMS in the fx loop of the HXS a bit - maybe a clean blend. Minor stuff. Maybe a Agro V2 instead of the DCX as a drive. I just love the Agro, so much like the OD tone from my Super Bassman.

Don't always need a wireless but the dB adjust feature allows you to adjust gain on the transmitter to allow for different output basses. So useful!

Looking at those faders on the BMS, they all are pretty low. You may want to try trimming the internal gain pot lower to get the faders back up to higher levels. It may smooth out the BMS a bit. Of course, I may not understand how you have it gain staged just looking at a picture. The board looks GREAT!

The Bass Station sure is portable and sounds great. It's the logical choice for simple lovely synth layers. One big feature I like on the Moog is using the software to edit and see preset knob settings. On the Bass Station, when you bring up a preset, you have to tweak all the knobs to see the preset settings. There may be a Bass Station editor out there, but I've not come across one yet.

I think I set unity gain on the guitar slider to about 75%. How does that sit with what you recommend?

I have been playing around with all sorts of sounds. Hopefully I will get to experiment some more over the weekend.

I've been using the Moog in panel mode. What you see is what you get. I have my favorite sounds stored as presets, but that's just as a fail safe back up. I like to look down and see what's going on. It makes changes easier for me. I'm a big fan of visual feedback. Not having an LED for switch 4 and 5 on the HXS is a bit of a downer. But, it's rare that I need 5 different effects on one service, so I'll just deal with it for the few times I need it. (I'm sure that I could add more hardware, but I'm out of space on my board.)

lol yeah I hear ya. Actually my wife is very good to me when it comes to toys and gear. She never asks how much things cost and never says anything when a new pedal arrives. So since she is so gracious to me in that way I try to restrain myself from over the top purchases. Which this would be. Could and would I use it at church? Yep. Would anyone there care? Nope not a one lol. I'll get one at some point tho. Looking hard at the sub25.

Many "touring" players use the Sub37, but I think a Sub25 is all you need. A few less options but maybe a little easier to store and access presets. Also a little smaller which is nice. Probably don't need that extra octave of keys for bass parts anyway. Maybe if you're a "lead" player.
