I personally have always used it at the beginning. I put it in the effects loop of my Ernie Ball tuner/volume so it's the first thing my signal hits, then it hits the volume, then the rest of my chain. I run it as a slight boost and about 4:1 ratio.

I have had compressor at the beginning (after wireless receiver, in front of the octaver). I plan to move it towards the end...
I kind of like it after all my drives and octave. It's starting to grow on me.
I had to look at my board for a minute to remember, but right up front. Cali76CB has worked for me for the last 5 years.
Sometimes I have it after a drive (light) or boost. My other board I had it second after a preamp (Super Stack) but just moved it to first to try for a bit.

I like the concept of running low gain OD -> compressor -> higher gain OD -> preamp/DI.
That is definitely worth trying out for sure.....it's things like this that make me think I still need a plain DI not attached to any other effect. The flexibility it gives for pedal order is a big advantage. My DI being attached to my preamp and drive can be limiting as much as I love my DGVU. I may try putting my Night Owl Industries Edison first before my comp though and see how that works. I do consider that my mild drive/first gain stage. I'm currently running it after my volume, so third.

After effects, before modulation. I want my drives and autowah to be reactive to touch/playing, but still stay at the same volume in the mix. I also like some sort of eq after compression just in case.
The only time I run compression up front is for long sustain with heavy compression for synth type tones.

I was winding down the board re-do and Same God showed up on the song list for this coming Sunday.

Right now it's Shure wireless - Broughton HPF - Cog mini octave - Greer Lightspeed - Analogman chorus - Noble.

Scenarios like this are the exact reason I adopted the MultiFX route (Stomp/Anagram/QC/etc).
Im scheduled for probably 90% of Sundays at my church. Need that week to week versatility
Yeah, I had the Stomp set up, and was in the process of going back to analog. I have the Analogman chorus, so I'll just throw that on the board for now. We've only done Same God 3 times in the past 2ish years.
I plan on hanging onto the Stomp. I'll likely get the digital bug again.
Which effects do you use on the multi the most?
I use a QC all the time.
On my preset I have an octaver, chorus, reverb/delay combo (for songs like Another One). I also use a capture of a Kasleder Jellyfish for overdrive.
My preset setup is a hybrid of Scenes and Stomps. Bottom 4 buttons are Scenes (Clean, Drive, Distortion, Synth). Top 4 buttons are Stomps (Octave, Chorus, Boost, Reverb/Delay). So no matter what scene Im in, I can flavor it with the Stomps. The Synth Scene is a combination of both (Distortion scene + Octave + Chorus + different EQ).
The new Anagram is also getting good reviews. It's a little cheaper, a lot smaller, and more bass centric than the QC.
It does look cool. It's just so hard to give up some of my favorite analog pedals.
If the drives are a hit on the Anagram, that might catch my interest. The Stomp is great, but I still had an analog preamp and OD with it.
I agree. I love my stomp, but I need to have that analog component on a board. Presets are awesome, but if you need some adjustment then you have it at your fingertips.
At the end of the day, all my patches on my HXS emulate tones from my anolog board.
It's definitely cool and I'm all about the DG, but once QC releases the Parallax for QC, I'm 1,000% in.
Should also preface with the fact that you can have one pedalboard for both bass and guitar, which I split about 50%, it would be gamechanger. Have one singular pedalboard for both? My back and trunk space would be very happy! lol
